2nd gear chirp = wife's mischievous giggle

:D

I was driving home and before pulling into my garage I saw my wife was outside our house on the sidewalk, so I told her to hop in so we could go play a little in the 8.

Note: I noticed the 8 was having one of those "PLAY WITH ME PLEASE" days, so I could not resist :D

So I go down my street, pull into a gas station...wait for the traffic to clear up (no people walking on the sidewalk...etc)...and, away we go!

I did a rolling start but when I hit 2nd and my 8 chirped it's wheels my wife had this little mischievous giggle that just made me laugh. She started asking me why it did that while smiling ear to ear and I'm not afraid to tell you guys...that I love her even more today since we shared the joy of the 8's performance together.

LOL...So, go and take your wives or girlfriends out for a drive and share the joy of the 8!

:D

What's even better is when your wife does it while you're in the passenger seat... the one time she chirped on 1st-2nd, and again 2nd-3rd, she had a ****-eatin' grin that wouldn't end. She finally understood "zoom zoom" :D

Oh I take my GF for that kind of ride all the time. I usually get a silent cringe w/ right arm holding the "oh ****" handle and a big "woo hoo" at the end of the run.

The one that really gives her the fuzzy feeling is when we take freeway mergers that go way up high in a curve and I drive so fast that she holds her breathe coz she knows if it was her car, it would have flown away. After that, she goes "whoa that was cool!"

my gf does not appreciate the performance of the 8. on the test drive when i broke the tires loose on the 1-2 shift she grabbed the oh-**** handle and had a look of apprehension on her face (she didn't let go until we got back to the dealership). and the first time i stepped the back end out, she grabbed the handled again, this time with a look of almost terror.

I made both my mom and my sister cry in seperated ride alongs in a C5 at a track near my house. They wanted to take an interest in my hobbies. That was a proud day. My sister was screaming a the top of her lungs and my mom was praying to live. As soon as my mom got out of the car she laid on the ground for about 10 minutes with the helmet on. I got skillz :p

I've never dated girls that appreciated the fun you can have in a sportscar, until recently. Yesterday I was out on a date with a girl that I have been seeing for a couple of weeks and she was giving me directions on how to get to a restaurant. On the way we got lost in conversation and missed a turn. We came to a redlight and she told me that I would have to make a U-turn, and I'll probably have to do a 3-point turn. I quickly (but kiddingly) suggested spinning the rear end around and forgoing backing up. She respondeded with an excited "lets do it!" and quickly sunk lower in the seat and grabbed the 'oh ****' handle. I disabled the DSC and as the light turned green we did a quick, but audible 180 and went on our way. She was smiling from ear to ear.

...I may have to keep her around for a while! :o)

slightly OT: Would you let your girlfriend drive your 8? My girlfriend been asking me every little once in a while, how she wants to learn driving stick on my car. I let drive it once, but that one time made me very apprehensive in letting her drive it again. I feel bad, but i just can't bear to watch.

My girlfriend likes to make comments about her driving my 8, just to see the look on my face. Like that'll ever happen ...

i did that over the weekend some donuts in a parking lot, some on ramp speed clover leaf speed, and flat out acceleration. She was bubbling with joy, then i let her take a turn (she knows stick and drives well ) and she was really excited .
