just got back from hawaii today,went to cutter's mazda there and they had a white met. 2005 rx8 with aftermarket chromes on it looked pretty sharp.took some pics but have not downloaded yet. the saleman there said the japan rep stops in alot and told him a ****2006 twin turbo rx8 ***** next year so i guess 2006 but i think he is full of chit like allways, but that is what he told so i got a card from him to keep in touch.

That's where I got my car from. The sales guys there are pretty nice, at least mine is, but when it comes to rumors about a turbo RX-8, they BS just like the rest of them. Hawaii does get most of the cars shipped in direct from Japan, so don't doubt that a Japan rep might stop in from time to time. The Japanese just love to visit Hawaii, it's one of their top vacation destinations.
