2004 rx8 fuel leak. Fuel line question.
I found a fuel leak at thee fuel pump ony rx8. I bought a new fuel line from the dealer pt# f151-45-110a. The new line is slightly different from the original. It has a brown plug, which is easily removed, which I assume is to protect the fuel coupler. The new liner has the green retaining clamp, and light blue sleeve like the original, but also has a red ring with a loop. My questions:
Has any one replaced the fuel line?
Did you have to drop the fuel tank?
Is there a DIY somewhere for dropping the tank
Does anyone know what the red ring on the fuel line is?
Can the line be installed on the fuel pump with the green locking retainer on, or should it be removed and reinstalled. The way the green ring is fabricated it looks like it can be left on the hose when pushing on the fuel line
Pic 1. Standard fuel line
Pic 2. New fuel line w/ brown and red additions
Pic 3 brown plug removed
Pic 4 fuel line different view. Shows ring on red plastic thing
Any help would be appreciated. I have scoured the forums and the web with littl luck.

I replaced the fuel line fairly easily. You do not have to drop the tank to do it. It is a hRd line but there is enough room by the tank to push it through.
The brown plastic piece protects the o-rings in the fuel line.
The red ring is to retain and protect the light blue sleeve
It is removed by pulling the hoop.
The green plastic retainer can be installed before pushing onto pump. It is designed to.
All this is great, but the leak was actually the fuel pump. Dammit.
Replaced following a DIY. No more leak. It lasted 10 years.
