10 year/100k mile question

I've wanted an RX8 for about 10 years. I've researched them quite a bit over the years, so I am decently familiar with their neediness. I've recently sold my Miata track car, and I'm looking for my next project.

The question I have now is about Mazda's warranty. Mazda extended the engine warranty to 10 years or 100k miles right? So if I looking for a car now, I should probably be looking at an 08+ to have that warranty in case the motor tanks? Is it as simple as me buying a stock RX8 that is an '08+ (perhaps 09+ for more headroom) and then if the compression tanks, Mazda puts in a remanufactured engine for free? Can it be that simple? I'm thinking there are more hoops to jump through than that...

Thanks in advance

It is a eight years, not ten. So most 2008 models will be out of warranty unless they were originally sold in 2009. the only way to know for sure is to call mazda and see what the original sell date was.
