What about coming up for only the firday through SUnday festivities. I have wanted to come up to this for almost a year now. I might still do it.

You can come for as long, or as short, a stay as your schedule permits. We'd be glad to have you, if only for a day. Just remember that registration closes on August 31st since we have to provide final numbers 10 days before the Sat. night banquet.

Be really careful...they've got speed cameras all over that thing now. Its now one of the major sources of income for that area .

Speed cam's everywhere, video cams, speed traps...its utterly rediculous.

Are you saying this has changed in the last year? I can't really see this happening as the tourist income has to be way too good for them to lose. They said all of this last year and I don't know that we saw one cop, except for the one that was helping the idiot on the bike that went sliding down the mountain

btw - haven't read or seen a thing about speed cams on www.tailofthedragon.com Rural legend perhaps?

I went through the Dragon last month in a MiniVan. Didn't see a single cop and we were booking along pretty good. Anyone can monitor this site for weekly reports on road conditions, weather and law enforcement. No mention of any new camera systems there either.

The main money maker for the locals there is the lure of the Dragon. I doubt they're gonna screw up their tourist industry by becoming too strict on the law enforcement. Besides, the thrill of running the Dragon comes from navigating the hairpin turns and twisties....not from speeding.

Wish we could join you guys out there! Just put a turbo on one of our RX-8s and that would be a great road trip to test it out on. The actual Dragon would be a better test for the Tein Basics and Whiteline sways, but I digress. Sadly we can't make it at all, but for those attending be sure to grab one of our flyers.

Also of note, BlueGrim, it's actually Driven rather than Driver as the first word of our company name. Just didn't want any confusion there . You guys and gals have a great time, and try to keep the greasy side down!

Well, a group of us Georgia 8's decided to run up to the Dragon yesterday. while it took us a long time to get there, a couple of wrong turns and lots of traffic, it was fun once we got there. Slow going most of the time. We did see a guy that had laid his bike down, brought out all of the local law enforcement and emergency services.

Is the schedule of events posted somewhere for the event this year. I may try to come up for Saturday, but not sure yet.

I know today is a most unfortunate day for everyone effected by the Hurricane. I would like everyone to know that the Brotherhood of the Dragon will be donating a very substantial sum of money to the relief effort of the American Red Cross. This donation will be made through my company and we will be MATCHING DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR the amount that the BOTD donates. During our trip next week we will be collecting as much as we can from all of the participants and that amount will be matched as well.

With all of that said, today is the last day for registration so if you are on the fence about coming, time to make the good decision and come!!! Check out the website link in my signature and we hope to see everyone there!!

Sorry folks, as a reslut of our gas prices here in ATL going up 25 cents TODAY, and it is expected to be well over $3 a gallon for premium, I am not going to be able to make the trip. I had hoped to, but will have to wait till next year.

Have fun, drive safe, and take pictures.
