REW conversion converting over to cable throttle question

Hi Folks,

I am doing an REW swap into a 2003 RX8.

I have the adaptronic plug and play RX8 ecu in the car currently.

I wont be running an OMP and would love to convert over to a throttle cable setup using the FD throttle body, cable, pedal etc.

Is it possible to do it with my ECU or will there be any problems and if so what ?

What do I do about the MAF sensor etc ?

Also will it effect the DSC,ABS etc ?

Thanks.

No more dsc/cruise with cable throttle body, you have to keep maf but you can put it everywhere, doesnt have to be in the intake of turbo. Dont think it would affect anything else

You dont need to plug omp if on calbe tb

ok thanks, just as long as the dsc, traction control etc isnt stuck on and I cant switch it off.

I would appreciate any advice, input from folks who have done the conversion and the results they have had, any problems etc.

What's your reason for doing away with the 8's TB?

Just do something thing like this and you'll be good to go.

I never liked the DBW throttle, it just feels wrong.
Also much easier to use the FD throttle body and Im not using an OMP anyway because Im using the FD front cover.

The FD throttle body and cable is a easy fit. You won't have any DCS though. I have no MAF with my FD TB and Apexi PFCU. Most people will prefer the RX8 TB, with DCS, and see the FD TB as a backward step; as long as you know the pros and cons then we've helped and it all comes down to your preference.

^No cruise control either with the rx7 tb, which I prefer on my 40 min hwy drives to work.

Thats cool, I have never used cruise control in my life, (Im 43) and regarding DSC, this is the first car I have has with it and Im not a fan of it.

Im old school and prefer to have as little as possible between me and the control of the car, that way I have full control and know what to expect in certain situations.

When I had the renesis engine rebuilt I asked if there was a way we could run a cable throttle body but I was told that too many systems were dependent on the DBW to work properly but now with this engine conversion I can run a cable.

The only thing that i think is necessary is ABS, I can happily live without all the rest.
