So I'm not covered by any Warranty

I purchased my 8 about 4 months ago and I'm starting to think I should have looked around for an extended warranty a bit harder. I have 116k miles on this 06 and that made it incredibly hard to find anything that's worth my money. Generally I'm fine doing all the work myself, I am mechanically inclined, but my wallet wouldn't say the same thing.

I did look around quite a bit and the only policy I could find that was halfway decent was with Vehicle Assurance, but I don't know if I trust them enough because I've never heard of them before. That and the best they could offer me was upwards of $175/mo, which seems high to me. Anyone know of anything that may be a worthwhile investment?

That's why you should start out with buying a more expensive car, to get one that is still new enough, and with low enough miles to be covered under a warranty.

If you can't afford to buy a car with warranty coverage and you can't afford to pay for needed repairs out of pocket, then you should wait until you can before buying a car.

The main point is: never buy a car you can't afford to maintain.

Buying an RX-8 with 116k on it is like marrying a stripper, you will have nothing but problems.

You guys are awesome lol. It's not that I need it, I was just wondering what was out there. I'm more than happy working on it out of pocket, DIY is all the fun of owning a car. It would just probably be smarter to have a fallback plan just in case my bank gets robbed or something

Yeah maybe you remember when you told me about that knocking noise way back when? Told me to push on the actuator to make the noise go away.. well it wasn't that. It was my rotor going kaput. I have to rebuild before my engine goes zoom zoom boom then shrapnel
