I don't see a place to introduce myself as a new member, but here I am replacing my 2006 RX-8 GT with a 2010 R3! The car is many states away right now so I'm just looking for a way to contain myself in the meantime. You will probably hear more from me in the near future
The 2006 is also up for sale so I may put it up in the for sale section soon (unless there are requirements for posting there).
Please point me in the right direction if I show my noobness with improper etiquette.

welcome to the club! How long did you have your 06?
If you want to sell here, you need to make a thread in the classifieds (home page, bottom, rx8 for sale section).
Considering your post count and trader score, pictures with your username and date will help. Read the forum rules in the FAQ (under the rx8club banner at the top of your page), as well as the "sticky" threads.
I've had the 2006 for about 3 years and drove it from 27k to 74k miles. It's a wonderful car but I upgraded for two reasons, 1) I was young and naive and bought an automatic and 2) this will probably be the last chance to find new or low mileage examples.
After a bit of searching around I think it will be a long time before I have any questions that haven't already been killed to death, so I have nothing left but to thank you all for this excellent resource.
Congrats on the R3. Are you going to pick it up or having it delivered?
That's the big question right now and it depends on the shipping quote. If it's much more than $500 to ship from Michigan to Massachusetts then I might take a weekend to fly down and drive it back. Weather is another obstacle unfortunately, I have snow tires but of course wouldn't be able to mount them until it gets here.
Congrats with the purchase. Another R3 owner who used to have an rx8 before is a die hard Mazda owner. Anyway, good luck with it and post pics when arrived.

It's funny, a lot of R3 owners seem to have owned RX-8's previously. I know of four R3 owners locally and all of them owned series 1 Rx-8's.
I never really warmed up to the RX8 style till now, but I had a 93 RX7 R1. That counts, right? Lol

Change of plans, it's been a crazy week and now I am flying down to get it in Ann Arbor, driving to Pittsburgh to stay with a friend for a day, then driving back to MA. I have a long weekend ahead of me.
