NC Help with 2005 AT RX-8?

Hey guys. I found another 8 and would for you guys to give me a quick appraisal or opinions on this car. I'm not a modder. I love manual but am only getting auto because the wifey has a hard time driving manual. I don't care too much about the speed and power. I just love it's looks. I appreciate redlining from time to time. Although it's not as easy with an AT. Let me know about this 05 and give me some opinions! Thank you guys!

Price seems high for an AT with that many miles.

Any chance you could teach the wife how to drive manual?

Either way, whatever makes you happy is what really matters.

I do teach her but it would just make things easier. The only difference is power right? How about reliability on such high miles? I wonder if i can push this car to at least 200k.

From what I've read on the forums, many people recommend staying away from the early AT models. Can't remember if that refers to 2004 models only or not. This is because of both the rather undesirable 4 speed tranny and also the engine (I believe early models had the 4 port engine only)

In regards to reliability, it would be a good idea to get the history of service on that car. You don't know if the previous owner(s) kept the up with the maintenance.
