Amazing RX8 find I'm looking to buy

So I finally got the go ahead to look at cars to buy and an RX8 was on the top of my list. Low and behold the first one I find is a 2009 R3 with only 8600 miles on it. Besides the basics of a used car and with such low mileage and a record of it having oil changes at 4k and 8k should i even worry about getting a compression check on the rotary?

PS - Thanks for all the informative threads I've already read through. The biggest help was the information about engine reliability being addressed early on and especially in the 2009 models. That seems to have sold the GF finally, heh.

It depends on you. Even low mileage could have low compression if its not taken cared of properly.

Well I went ahead and asked for one but they showed me the results of one they ran when they bought it back from the owner as a trade in. I took their word on it since they've been great to us through buying and working on my girlfriends 2010 Mazda 3.

All in all I bought it. It's a beautiful piece of machinery.

Yeah it is! Congrats!

And no, I wouldn't worry about the compression test...
