Living is best Modified.
I've only seen VR red for R3, rarely though.
The other RX-8s i've seen are all S1. Black usually - with and without pin striping.
Mike, I'm interested in knowing what the "Blue LED concealed meter lighting with red night time gauge illumination" looks like.

***The engine's 90% of why I bought one. Nothing is as smooth as a rotary. Many get hooked for life.
***They are not a big seller so they are smart to save finanaces and work on what makes them money...Miata and 3.

I have high hopes for the future of the rotary engine at Mazda: RX9 or maybe RX7 ? Lightweight, with the latest technology to create an efficeint/quick/nimble RX, Id also like to see AWD although that is highly unlikely.
Since I buy/trade a new car every 1-3 years, Id be highly interested to see what is the next chapter for the Wankel at Mazda.

Enjoy your EVO though once a guys creams you in his 370Z because there's no lag you'll then go onto the EVO forums with the screen name "EVOsold4370Z".

You're just a nut! The Rx8 is just fine the way it is. It's not meant to compete with an STi or 370Z or a Hyundai EVO. The Rx8 rides smooth and silky unlike a sports car. Then when you need it to go and turn it transforms itself automatically. It's quiet, it's real easy to drive every day and it looks great inside.

I can add a little to this off topic discussion, the RX-8 does need a serious power increase from factory and has been sadly neglected by Mazda presumably due to Mazda's relatively limited money for R&D I mean the 8 was there flagship and they let the Mazdaspeed 3 surpass it in Hp and torque. It would be nice for the 8 to be competitive with othe Japanese cars in it price range like the EVO, STi or the 370z ( which in my opinion has the nicest interior of them all )

Although it's supposed to be an option, I haven't actually seen a single 2009+ in blue here in Canada. Red, Black and White R3s are definitely kicking around though. Seriously considering a 2011 black R3 if I can find a good deal.

Just to let you know Mazda Japan could go NO further with the 13B Renesis, you must understand that the NA Renesis was an evolution of over 20 years of the 13B.
Mazda did not "neglect" the RX-8, they did as many updates on Series II (2009) as the could to improve an already refined Sports Car.
As you know a Rotary is not like a piston engine, where you can change or develop a cylinder head for more power.
Unfortunately the world has moved on and demanding fuel economy.
And I will call this now..sadly, the Rotary IS DEAD as we know it.
