hated it... whoever is just giving me a big headache/epileptic seizure
...unbelievable collection of peices, dealing with many facets of a woman, living in a seemingly hyper-western universe boardered on one of the last refuges of anti-westernism.
it deals with so so many issues (one of the most prevolent and poignant being sex, this isn't explicit, but wouldn't recommend it for kids... aw heck, they wouldn't wanna watch ti anyways), and is so refreshing... i just have to share.
please, watch, vote, enjoy, i hope.

3. SAMSUNG MEANS TO COME ...strikingly poingant, and in my opinion is the best executed peice on the site, and extremely applicable to our north american culture, dealing with this tradeoff between what is "real/authentic" (which she observes in the north) and what she experiences as the fake an calculating in "her" (not really sure if this "true story" is true, or whose story it is, if anyone's specifically) life.
so, give yourself ~20 minutes, watch them all, but if you have epilepsy this is a no-no for sure.
i understand that the term art is used VERY loosely, but that is just terrible. there was really no imagination that went into that. it looks like he just learned flash over the weekend and decided to start by using it to express his opinions.
an essay would've been easier to understand and less nauseating

and again, for the obviously unobservant, this was a woman.
a middle aged, south korean woman, dealing with the connundrum of dissatisfaction in her westernised, commercial, male-centric society, while faced still with their ethnic brothers to the north living an entirely different sort of life... starving, but maybe more fulfilling??
these are issues she addresses. it's not about how well the flash was done, or about the music (which is all classic jazz recorded back in the 1950's and 1960's... "Samsung means to come" was all Duke Ellington stuff, which is why it's so awesome), it's about the message, the meaning.
you don't have to be a fan of the method, but i found this work so interesting as it's extremely similar to spoken word (from the beatnik era, which the music recalls), but in heavily literary form. the entire aproach to the site is bare-bones (as is the animation) because it's minimalist. again, you don't have to be a fan, but don't be so ignorant to slough it off without understanding.
