Thanks for the votes. Took a RX-8 for a test drive last Friday, and really enjoyed it!!! Damn thing sounds like a jet...lol. One question though, why in the hell does the auto have 40 less HP then the standard?

The A/T tranny can't handle the 6 port engine, supposedly. But in other parts of the world there is a 4 port manual configuration, so that rumor may be bunk.
Dude i'm still paying for my van!...then i'll get an RX-8 after i finish paying my van off!!!...kind of radical eh!...but i want that RX-8 SEXY CAR!!! :D
I thought it was because of the high RPMs of the 6 port engine, isn't the 4 port limited to around 7500RPM? I don't think automatic transmissions handle the high RPMs as easily as manuals.
