05 manual Ti Gray PROJECT CAR for sale
Selling my RX-8. THIS IS A PROJECT CAR.
Asking $2000
This is a 6 speed manual RX-8 in titanium gray with the sport package option which includes fog lights. It also has chromed rims which were nice when new but are showing the 108,000 miles with some of the clear coat coming off and dings from bad tire changes that built up over the years.
The good: It has a new starter motor, spark plugs, coils and I have an extra brand new coil sitting around. I also have the original yellow side markers. Tires are almost brand new other than having not turned in 18 months. Paint is in pretty good shape for the miles, although the car is quite dirty. Brake pads have about 20,000 miles on them. The originals lasted me 80k.
"Mods": Fog lights converted by the previous owner to day time running lights, these can be left always on and turn off automatically when the car is shut off so you don't have to worry about killing the battery. Third brake light has a filter in it and it says "RX8" when you step on the brake. Side marker front lights were converted from yellow to clear by previous owner.
The bad: The engine has a dead skip in it. When you crank the motor it has a fast spot so that means that it has a loss of compression on one of the rotors. The car did run before it was parked and still had decent power at that time, I decided not to run it to avoid further damage to the engine and never drove it again. It has been parked for about a year and a half. The battery is dead and the gas is certainly bad at this point so it will not be possible to start it or test drive it. You are welcome to bring gas and a battery to try and start it. Otherwise, bring a trailer.
I've moved on from rotaries so I have no desire to fix this car. I just want it gone.
If you have a good engine but a crashed car, this is a match made in heaven. everything but the engine worked flawlessly.
