I hate reading the dealer/pricing forums...I hate reading some guys are getting their 8's for 2K UNDER Invoice. I was RX8 shopping today - I ALMOST pulled the trigger...
04 Sports Package + Appearence + Rear wing for Invoice $500, minus 1500 from Mazda.
I have another offer for the same car, at invoice + 200, minus 1500 -
What I'm asking for help with is, Are these deals accurate to what Northwest-buyers are paying?

That second guy came down to $27,500 out the door...more than I hoped for (wishing for $26K OTD), but $830 less than the 1st guy's best offer.
The car has 167miles on it - so I'll check it out to make sure nobody was joy-riding in it, etc...if things look okay, I'll bring it home tomorrow.
It's scary to buy, not having sold my miata yet; but with 90 days no payments, per my credit union, + income tax refund due about the time the 90s days is up, I think we can swing it - Nobody who knows my car can think of a reason it'd take more than even a month or two to sell.
(sigh).
It's my first new car. It's sorta scary...but here goes.
PM me for my address if you're interested (I'm just up the street from you)...I've done a fair amount of business with a couple of the Mazda dealers around here and might be able to help. BE VERY WARRY OF MILAM!
I pre-ordered an 8 from them last june...they kept lying to my and stringing me along, so I went to Univercity...then Mazda did the buy back. So I waited a year and went back to Milam and they made me a great offer for a new one, then they could'nt come through, so I went to University again. If you're going with Milam, I might be able to go in with you....they know from first hand experience that I am certainly not afraid to walk right off thier lot and bring my $30K somewhere else, and if I'm with you, they'll think the same of you.
Plus if you go to University...they'll give me $50 if you drop my name! LOL

I bought my 8 back in Aug. for 29500 w/gt, nav, splash guards, accent package, and spoiler. It had 13 miles on it. Had to get the dealer to update the flash, and I hassled with the nav update as well(took about a month). The invoice price edmonds has on my car is 30,873, so I wouldn't be suprised if you could get 2k off invoice on a 04 now
Ems - I'm going to Bremerton actually; was at milam today. Just didnt 'feel' right. The guys at Bremerton seem to have been very straight-forwards; as much as a car dealer would be I suppose. Invoice shows 27,271 for the car I'm looking at...so, figure $25K + Tax is what I'll end up paying. All the time I see where people are getting amazing deals all the time; but when I'm ready to buy, those deals are never around...lol
If you'd like to head up with me tomorrow anyway, we're leaving here at 11am. There will be me and a friend taking my miata up; you'd be welcome to follow along. Or even if you wanted to cart us up there, I'd spot ya some gas $. :D
Wish I could...my daughter's Christmas pictures, then a neighbors birthday party...you know all the daddy things that get in the way of driving my car . But I'd be interested to meet you and see your car if you buy one tomorrow. PM me with your contact info if you want to meet up later in the afternoon.
To continue this basic thread.... My wife has decided, not without justification, that the time may have come when she should have some fun driving to work too, instead of always driving the minivan while I drive my S2000. Knowing her as I do, I suggested that she look at the RX-8; she likes it. Now, it turns out that there are 38 leftover new '04s in the Seattle area, so I assume that one can get one for a significant amount under invoice, but my question is, how much? $2000? $4000? Something else? I know of the $1500 factory rebate, and I am not including that in this calculation.
We're ready to buy, but don't want to pay too much; can anyone with real knowledge offer some guidance?
1500 under invoice is automatic, thanks to 1500 cash back from mazda. Offer them Invoice, per Edmunds.com - 1500...that should take no real effort on their part. Anything more is gravy.
