PIR and ORP with Proformance Aug. 29, 30, & 31

Hello Kiddies, would anyone like to come out and play? I'll be driving at PIR and ORP with ProFormance Racing School. They are taking a field trip and will be hosting a day at PIR on Aug the 29th, and two days on Aug 30th and the 31st at ORP. I will be driving on the 29th and the 30th.

You will need to have track experience to drive, and if you haven't driven these tracks there will be coaches to hire. If you have solo'd PIR or ORP you are good to go.

Each day is $295 and a 30 min coaching session is $100. They run two groups switching every half hour.

If you don't have any HPD (high performance driving) experience, there is plenty of time, and plenty of track days before the end of Aug. to get that done

This will be my first time at PIR and I am excited to try that track. I was able to drive ORP last year and it is a very technical track!!! There are so many turns and a lot of them are blind. It is a lot of work but so much fun!

If you are interested or have any questions, let me know (I can get you a driver's form to fill out) or you can go to http://www.proformanceracingschool.com/ for more details.

Engine as in radiator, and/or oil cooling? Is it because of the turbo?

Yep, and I'm about to call the Moro Tall Winds Hotel and make a reservation for ORP. I stayed there last year and it's really cheap ($60.) It's only 15 minutes from the track, and there is nothing out there, so it's the best option. Not too fancy, but it's a place to stay. They're pretty small so I'd make a reservation early.

Anyone know of a good place to stay for PIR? Is it cheaper in Vancouver or Portland?

Yes, talk to them to get signed up. They should have your info from the last time you drove with them. They said you only need one coach for PIR, but they'll recommend two sessions for ORP and I would recommend that too. I had two sessions last time and on the second session he rode with me(fourth time out) he cleaned up a lot of little mistakes from the first session. I've signed up for one coach at PIR and only one coach for ORP to have as a refresher.

It's such a cool experience, I'm glad you're signing up

I'm only at Tall Winds Wed night, then I'll drive back Thursday night. It's a bit of a drive back after a day of tracking, but a little caffeine and sunflower seeds does the trick

Wish I could do all three days, but two in a row will have to do.

Here's a really good video to help learn the track.

And her's a link so you can print out the pdf file of the track to help learn the corners.

And the video doesn't show how blind and how hilly the track actually is.

Mike, have you figured out how to use the GPS mapping on your Contour to get your laptimes?
