I noticed on the drive Sunday that my chauffeur was holding herself in her seat, bracing as it were. I wasn't sure what it was at first though I suspected as much. Like her, I find the Mazda seats slippery and lacking in Holding ability and get frustrated with the OEM Belts inability to hold you in place properly, snuggly as you need to be when really driving.
So you can install 4 point restraint and aftermarket seats for $4-5k OR Give this number a try... I have "HEARD" good things but I haven't purchased one myself.
This "CG-lock" should be a huge help. CG-Lock.com Website
Anyone tried this? I'm probably going to give it a shot, cause I hate not being secured when out playing.

It has to be installed backwards on the RX-8...or you can cut the tab off the buckle to make it fit forwards.

No. You are still able to slide sideways out of the shoulder restraint in the event you point the wrong side skyward. If anything, you're safer 'cause you wont be slamming into the lap belt, and it wont ride up to your waist and thus bi-sect you.

A seat belt lock for a child's car seat does the same thing for a couple of bucks. I've used one to keep my butt planted during autocrossing and it works fine.
Just head to the "Performance Driving", er, I mean car seat section of Toys R Us, Walmart, etc.

WHOA... Does it still allow the shoulder strap to move freely? Please tell us more.
