well im very new to this forum and have never owned a mazda but ive got to say im very impressed thus far.i have bought a few new cars over the years and nothing has come close to this.i only ordered my rx8 a few days ago out of dealers allocation and have got 3 emails that seem to be diffrent than those from the preorder program.the first was to thank me for ordering a car from them and the second was to let me know that preorders will come in mid july and mine should arrive late august and i would get email updates as of vin# and build date.today i got another email that the wanted my home address so they could send my gift book.i would have never expected this book because i was not a pre order and only gave my depoist on the car on june 6th.this in my opnion is great customer realtions and as long as the car is hear by early sept they will have gained a new life long customer.:D

Wow, that's nice... I wish my dealer is like that. I didn't get any e-mail from them, and they aren't very helpful in helping me to check the status of the car.
glad to hear you had a great experience. no complants from me either. (though in fairness i work at a dealer and get the inside info and fast updates). it is nice to hear good comments for change...

Obviously some dealers care more than others. I put a deposit down also for a dealer allotment car, I have on the other hand not had nearly the experience that you write about.

OK I HAD IT WITH MY STUPID DEALERSHIP! I live 2 mins from freakin Mazda Headquarters and I havent gotten jack ****. Imma sell my 1st allocation spot, because it seems I havent gotten anything but total BS.

update on this,recieved the car on 8/09/03.car came in with a small chip in the paint at the lowest point on rocker,this chip was very small and i was happy with just a free bottle of touch-up,but also got a free full mask from this pea sized ding.got a fair deal on the car,msrp at 4.9% and am still very happy with this dealer(cant believe i can say that,noramaly i hait going to car dealers worse than the dentisit)
best buying experience so far.
