Found this RB25DET rx8, thoughts
The for sale thread is listed here.
2004 RX8 w/ RB25DET custom
I found this on craigslist just wanted to here any thoughts on it or if anyone knows whose car this is. I will copy and paste the ad below tell me what you think.
You are not reading the title wrong. I have been doing this build for about 3 years now and am finally wrapping it up. The car will also come with a brand new bumper kit which has yet to be painted. I was done with the renesis 1.3 and wanted to do something very unique with this unique car. I've seen plenty of 350 small block drops but a skyline motor? Who would've thought.. So let's go through the rundown.
2004 Mazda RX-8 shell
2.5 incline 6 cylinder RB25DET
Mishimoto intercooler
Mishimoto radiator
Greddy style intake manifold
HKS blow off valve
AEM Version 1 EMS
Custom 3" exhaust
Custom motor mounts
Custom downpipe
Custom driveshaft
ACT Stage 3 clutch
Fabricated BMW M3 steering rack
Probably forgetting a couple things lol
I built this to make it my daily/track vehicle but I am actually moving out of NJ very soon and will be departing with my baby since '06.
If the sale cannot be done in person, I can have the title mailed to the shop where the car is and have you pick it up there. Money can be done through paypal or deposited into an account pending on mutual trust/agreement.
I've babied this car since day 1 and Tutomo Racing has been taking delicate car of it while I haven't had the time to finish the build. This car will be perfect for any import/tuner enthusiast and for the general younger crowd. Def. a sleeper until you show the driver next to you what's really under the hood.
I'm sure this won't last long.

IMO overpriced probably end up spending another 10k just to get it to work right, old style rb25 is not the best motor to drop if your gonna do a swap of this magnitude he should've just went rb26dett preferably a red top, or N1 block on top of that the build is incomplete so I would stay away from something like this.

3 years what they been doing?
I'd personally say a rb is too long and heavy. my sr20 powered one is noticeable heavier on turn in than the 13b which is fine once you get it on coilovers and up the spring weights.
The main thing to do is a test drive as the main problem I've seen with the converted Rx8s is steering problems.
$10500 seems a bit steep means its stock with Rb motor and no where does it say its running?
