New owner here -Savannah GA
Hello! Just wanted to thank everyone for posting here and helping me choose and build my RX8. I am building a track/weekend car for HDPE and perhaps STX. I have gone by the STX rules so far. I've done the reliability mods so far. MazMart sent me a full tune up kit for the car including thermostat. 81k on the chassis. 25k on the reman. One owner. Unfortunately it is a fully optioned car (i.e. Heavy). The car runs cool, has a newer factory cat on it, and is solid. This is my Third Rotary Mazda.
Here's what I've got waiting on installation now.
Whiteline swaybars
Koni sport shocks (adj)
H&R springs
New Centric high carbon rotors all around
Hawk 9012's
Enkei RPF1 17x9 and 255 RT615's
Seat Lowering Mod
Performance alignment.
That should get me started. Any feedback is welcome. My first lapping day is Dec. 5th at Roebling Road. I last ran my 911 there in June and got into the 1:26's. We'll see what the Rx8 can do in comparison with similar mods.
Got my favorite color!
Box of goodies.
RPF1's from Good-Win
Work has begun!

Thanks for all the positive comments. I haven't had it on the ground with the new suspension yet, but I actually made the decision to go with the Mazdaspeed shocks and springs so that won't lower it quite as much. From what I've researched, I don't think I should have any rubbing issues with a 255-40-17. People are going much wider. I wanted to stay square so I could rotate side to side as my home track is especially rough on left side tires.

Yea, it has the heated leather. I will be ditching them for a set of Recaro Sportster CS's this winter. Those, plus a Rollbar and harness will be one of my projects over the winter..

Can I get away with saying that I don't like it?? I usually double apex it pretty late to get a run on that short chute and maintain speed through 7-8-9 That's also where I nearly ate it in my 911 with some good snap oversteer. I'm adamsk97 on YouTube. There's a pretty good video of it. You don't realize how fast your going until you're off track!
Hope to see you out there sometime!
