You mean it will crank and crank and crank, but not fire up?

If that's the case, look up the de-flooding procedure. It involves holding the gas pedal all the way down while trying to start in bursts of 5-6 seconds.

Wow, dude, take a moment to breath and gather your thoughts. Then type them out into one clear post. Possibly look into punctuation.

If all of the accessory items are getting power and you applied 12v to the starter and it works then it sounds like you either have a problem with a fuse, a relay or the PCM. I can't tell for certain but it almost sounds like maybe the key and the immobilizer in the PCM are having a disagreement but I can't even figure out how that would happen without replacing one or the other (which you don't mention that you've done).

But yah, adding some punctuation to separate your sentences (and maybe typing out whole sentences) would make it much easier to help you.

Diagnose before replacing parts. Is the mechanic that's telling you this versed in Mazdas and rotaries in particular? If not, he's shooting in the dark.

If it cranks it's not the key. Perhaps it's flooded from turning on and off (and a weak ignition). Foot on the gas all the way, crank for 5 seconds. Wait 10 seconds, repeat cranking with foot on gas. Do this 3-4 times, then try to start normally. If no good, wait a couple of minute and retry.

Alternatively pull the spark plugs and dry them off. While you're at it, try to identify the cause of overheat. What traffic conditions and speed were you at when you started to overheat?
Has this car had a compression test and a fresh ignition coils, spark plugs and wires installed in the last 30k miles?

If it happened right after battery install i think its clear where you gotta look first.

A, the ole flashing red light. You need Mazda. I don't think you need to replace parts necessarily, but you might need to reprogram it. No sweat, it's doable. You shouldn't need a new key, it's all re-programmable.

How do you know it is not disengaging the alarm? Immobilizer issues are very rare on these cars, 9 times out of ten starting issues are not related to security system issues.

When the car is locked, and you use the key to unlock it, do the lights flash? When you turn the key in the ignition does anything happen?

When I use the key to unlock it nothing flashes but I can use the key pad and it will lock and unlock just fine, the reason I think that is because a few people have had the same issue so I unlock it get in engage clutch in turn key to start and all lights come on and the red light with key is on flashing slow then when I try to start it absolutely nothing happens no noise and the key light is flashing fast so I'm at a lost

The key light flashing is normal when there is an issue such as a low battery. If it does nothing then I would check the clutch safety switch. Assuming of course the battery is charged and there are no problems with the battery cables, ignition relay, or starter.

Also just because the battery is new, doesn't mean it is good, they typically sit in stores a long time. Also if the battery was hooked up backwards it could have fried something.
