Got my RX8 today
Made the choice on getting an 8 i love the way they look. Picked up a 2006 with 100k miles but got additional 5 year/ 100k warranty from the dealer. Ive been reading these forums and looking up everything on the rx8 for about 2 weeks now. Tons of great info from everyone on here. But Ive put a small list of basic maintenance that i want to get done within the next months or so.
1.Spark plugs/ coils/ wires
2. clutch disc.
3.Tranny fluid change
4.diff fluid change
5.brake fluid change
6. air filter
Just a basic tune up pretty much, but is there anything else to suggest that might need to be done. Not a lot of service records were available, just trying to keep this bad boy going long.
Thanks everyone.

Inspect and clean the SSV.
Enjoy your new ride and drive it like you stole it!

Thanks for those additional things to ads to my list. Will get right on this list. But love the way this car drives drove for about 1.5 hours today do to I think dealer put cheap gas in it. After I filed up with 91 octane [highest in my location] she runs and idles a lot better.

I have looked at a lot of things in the new member section, was just worried since I bought the car worth 100k miles and want this car to be running in tip top shape. She runs good now but I want her to run like new.

I'm fairly new to owning a 8 as well been reading the forums to look for the basic upkeep things I wanted to do glad I came across this one. I got a 08 with 45k on it strangely also in UT and should I wait on cleaning the senors and throttle body since its still fairly low mileage or would it be a good idea to do it because of the age

Ive have not clean the throttle body yet. But from past experiances with cars for me is just to start from top to bottom and clean/ replace evrything for basic mantance when buying a used car. What ive done so far is oil change, coolant flush, and started looking under the hood to see where everything is. Soon will be switching to those bhr coils and new plugs and wires, and k&n factory replacement air filter. But cleaning anything can never hurt the car.
