Finally bought an 8 (New Member)
Hello everyone,
First off I would like to thank everyone for the usefull information provided here through the stickies and posts. It's helped me alot. I've been reading here off and on everytime I get an itch to buy one of these things but this latest itch wouldn't go away lol.
Its been a good 6 months of me running around looking at and driving these cars but none of them seemed to be what they were as advertised (maybe I'm picky). That and not a single seller was willing to have a compression test done. It came to a point where I pretty much gave up. That was until a white R3 caught my eye for a fair price. Figured whats one more car to go to look at. Well I'm glad I went because the car was in mint condition complete with a passing compression test from a month ago. Complete service history, clean carproof/facts and only 40k kms/26k miles on it. I paid more than what I originally planned (was looking to try an older/cheaper one first) but I'm really happy with my buy.
Only problem now is i got to wait for winter to finish so I can drive it. And of course it starts snowing the day before I pick it up lol.
So again Thanks All
P.S. Quick question... shouldn't the seller be responsible for the compression test? Many said that if I was willing to pay for it then they would do it. I might as well go to Vegas with my money lol... Cheers

Thanks Loki... here in Toronto
I figured as such regarding the compression tests. I went with the pitch of "If it passes I will pay for test and asking price... but if it fails you pay me the test cost". Nobody would go for it lol.

Welcome. Please ensure you read the following threads. Take the time to learn about the car as it is sitting in hibernation.

Welcome to the board. Post up some pics of the 8.
My own personal opinion would be the seller should pay for that test. However, as mentioned above, you can only make the seller pay for what the seller is willing to pay for.

Thanks all
Looks like the BHR midpipe will be a must. I like the sound it gives in this clip
. Though mine will be with stock catback. Will it give off much smoke without the cat?
I found this car up in the Richmond Hill area. It was on Kijiji for a good couple of months maybe more.
And I promise to get some pics up as soon as I get it here. Just waiting for them to complete a small list of things i wanted done.
Cheers

Nicee..You won't notice much difference in smoke volume.
However, be aware the sexylicious, intoxicating smell of rotary will be a lot stronger without CAT lol..

Hello Everyone
I finally got a chance to drive it today and I have to say I love it. Im actually surprised how well it pulls despite its lack of power on paper. I was definitely smiling most of the time. The only time I wasn't smiling was on my way back home when I got too close to a curb and put a scuff in the rim. Whats even funnier is that it happened after buying rim cleaner... the irony lol. All in all though, this thing is a hoot. I can't wait to get out for a couple track days this summer. A couple more pics below.
Cheers

Thanks Zoom
It's an eye sore when you're up close to it, at least for me it is lol. Tomorrow I will be looking into having it fixed or try touch up paint. I understand there is no paint code so I'm not sure yet.
