Fans stay on high speed even when coolant temp is low and AC off.

Gentlemen, we have a messed up issue here. I just came back from a drive and noticed my fans are on high speed all the time. I know the AC forces the fans on high, but this happened even with the AC off. Coolant was around 190F, yet the fans were on full speed! If I turned off the car, they would stay on for 5 seconds and then turn off. Whenever I turn the key to the ON position, they would come on within 2 seconds. I left the car to cool down and tried starting it when the coolant was at 150F with AC off (so the compressor won't turn the fans on high on) and nope, the fans were on high as soon as I started it.

This has never happened before. This only happened when I tried to start it when the coolant was over 213.8F. When driving, the fans would go into high speed if, again, the coolant gets over 213.8 or when the AC compressor turns on. Never when it's at 190F.

I found a fan diagram where it said that the fans would go on high speed if there's an issue in the ECT sensor. So I checked for any CEL codes and got nothing. Checked under the hood, coolant level was fine. Both fans were spinning. Everything seemed ok under the hood. I will check again in the morning.

Please help! Coolant temp checked from OBD2 btw.

I understand your concerns but is this really a problem?

It is not a problem. Yesterday my coolant temps were really low compared to other days. Car never went above 200F. On other days it would go over 212F. And then the fans would turn on.

I'm just worried that the fans are not working as intended. It's like I got the Mazmart Performance fan mod overnight. It's cool, but I wanna know why this happened.
