cold start problem

Hey guys not sure if this has been covered or not. I know rx8s have a common fault with cold starts. Iv owned mine for 2 years and since i bought it it struggles starting. Turn the key and it will take 3 or 4 seconds to start but it will start all the time. It may sound like its struggling but it does start and once its started it runs fine. In the summer the cold atarts did seem to go away. As soon as the winter came it started again. Is this just a common thing i have to live with or is there something that can be done. A year ago i changed the plugs and leads and it somehow set off the management light. I had the code read and the light is on because i need new plugs but theyve been done with brand new plugs and leads. Any help will be appreciated. The car has only done 50k thanks

There is no engine light code for spark plugs, do you have thr actual code number?
If the light came on after the change, are you sure the spark plugs were connected to the right coils?

Get battery tested too. Something seems to have changed with batteries, at least in the south. We now get "hot weather" batteries. They seem to survive summers better (I never had one get out of the free replacement period before), but they hate the cold. Or, someone was blowing smoke. My latest one held a charge fine, until it got cold, then the bad cell could not keep up.
