Hey guys,

I need some help with my battery issue. I greased my clutch last weekend to get rid of some ridiculous squealing using some lithium grease. It cleared up the squeal but now my battery seems to drain whenever the car sits.

I looked over the connectors and wiring behind the peddle and it doesn't look like I coated any wires to cause problems except for a connector on the clutch pin. I've wiped that down to remove any grease alo ng with any other spots I can find but the issue is still here. Autozone has checked and OK'd the battery but I don't know what I can do next.

Anybody have any advice on what to do or any shop that could help out with this?

You need to figure out where the current draw is going.

Easiest way is to connect a meter at the battery and remove fuses until the current draw drops to what would be considered normal current draw from the ECU and backup systems that need to be powered when the car is off.

Thanks that's what I'm planning to do. I just have to find a meter now and I was hoping someone might have a quicker fix because daily jumpstart are getting annoying. Thanks though.

With the trunk closed, remove the ski passthrough thing between the back seats. Look inside to see if the trunk light is on... people have had issues with that.

Otherwise nothing to do but get a meter and go to town on thr fuses.

One other thing, I've tried disconnecting the battery while the car sits but whenever I go to start it later, it still dies after a second of ignition. Think this might be a load issue or alternator not charging properly?

That might be another issue, the battery wouldn't drain that fast without starting a fire somewhere. Since you're disconnecting the battery, the car has to relearn how to idle when you start it after. Things like vacuum leaks can make that more difficult and it could stall. Wanna make a video of what happens to clarify?
