2004 RX8 6 port
Finally got my first RX8 - prior to purchasing, this forum was instrumental in helping me to ask the right questions to the right people (previous owners, servicing garages etc) and to be fair I am happy with what I have for the money paid. It is a 2004 6 port model with 79k on the clock. Drives nice, no starting issues so far (although I guess they are on their way).
Anyways, I am looking to overhaul the ignition, oil, oil filter, air filter and anything else that needs doing so that I know exactly what is what.
My question is this...I have seen quoted prices on here for coil packs, plugs and leads and this all amounts to around £400. There is no issue with this as I expected to buy a money pit but I was pointed to the following link by a friend who also has an RX8 and I am a bit suspicious of how cheap it is. MAZDA RX8 4 x IGNITION COIL PACKS + 4 x NGK SPARK PLUGS + NGK SILICONE LEADS | eBay. Could someone who knows far more than me take a look an give me their thoughts please. I am not sure if the prices have changed vastly or if the deal above is as cheap and nasty as it sounds..possibly counterfeit.

The description tells you that they are after market coils.
If your going to buy coils for your 8 try get c revision coils as they tend to last longer than the b revision . Don't bother with any a revision coils.
I think the main difference between the b and c revision is a Grove on the back to prevent the coils from overheating from what I've read/heard. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm.

The coils in the listing you linked are indeed counterfeit. If you are in the UK one of the cheapest places to get them is jp4mance, or even better join the UK owners club and get them from a UK trader like MRP or rotaryrebuild with OC discount.
Alternatively if you want to upgrade to a customised D585 style package try rotaryrevs or lcrotary.

Thanks guys for your quick responses. Turns out that Rotary Revs is based 5 minutes from my place of work and are the answer to all of my woes moving forwards. The jp4mance package mentioned by Phil Bate was my original choice hence my "£400" expected costs but the opportunity to speak with experts and "give it to someone else who will probably do a better job of it" seems very appealing.
Wish I had gotten my 8 sooner though, at 42 yrs I really shouldn't be grinning as much when it goes sideways up the road.

Careful with cheap internet coils. The advantage of Intermotor/BWD or similar manufacturer coils from NAPA is lifetime warranty and plenty of confirmed good customers. No name coils from Amazon could be fine, could be junk. I wouldn't risk your motor to save 100 bucks.
Like the ones in the link, I can't tell who the manufacturer is so thats an automatic no.
If you're spending 400 pounds, you may as well buy BHR coils and not worry for a long time.

I’m jealous you guys have Rotary Revs in the Uk. From what I’ve seen on Car throttle, Josh and the rest of the crew seem quite fun and very knowledgeable. I need to check on Lucky 7 racing near where I live. Maybe they’re cool. Glad people were able to help you mate

I bought a set from Advance Auto years ago after I first bought my 8.
They worked fine and come with a lifetime warranty, so if you save the receipt you can get free coils if they go bad.
If all you want is reasonably priced OEM coils, they're fine.

Mazmart is a good vendor to deal with ( I’ve purchased a few things from them) but, check with your local dealership if you’re getting Revision C coils. Dealership might surprise you with lower cost once shipping costs are included.

I`ve install handmade OEM D585 LS coil without correcting dwell times on my S2. Car cranking longer to start but idle and acceleration is much smoother and kit cost 250$ instead 400$.
