MA Massachusetts RX-8 Club!

I am going to actually make a huge concerted effort here. I am organizing a Massachusetts RX-8 Club.

We would have regular meets at the Bass Pro Shops Thursdays, once a month Meet 'n Cruise with different cruise routes for the month.

Calendar of Events along with access to the google maps of routes, videos/dashcams from events and more can be found on the Massachusetts RX-8 Club website at massrx8club.com.

I had started PM'ng folks but realized that was silly. Just make a thread and see if there is any interest.

Show your love for your 8! The first Meet n' Cruise will be Saturday June 25th 4pm. For more info see the Calendar event at the clubs site.

Special thanks to the rx8club.com community for inspiring us to finally get Mass representing!

PM me with any questions.

Lancifer

I did change the user list engine. the old one was broken. You should be able to re-register without issue. All backend issues have been resolved. Sorry about that bro.

To all users who have registered. Check your registration. The backend user manager kinda **** the bed. It has been replaced with some more robust. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just checked the roster and wow. Thanks for the support guys! Lets see how many more we can get. If we all turnout with current numbers that'd be an awesome caravan!

Thanks!

BTW, I am looking into registering us with some of the automobile club associations.

Sounds like we may be getting a 'brother' club with the RX-7 guys. LOL. Can you imagine rolling up in 7s and 8s and just taking over a lot. I hope some has a digital camcorder. It is gonna look cool with the dash cam.

We will talk about it during our first meet.

I am glad the club is garnering such interest. We have roughly 15 members registered for the Mass RX-8 Club so we should have an impressive caravan if even half the members show up.

I joined. Sadly Waltham is too far for me, and then to drive further away would cost a lot. I live on Cape Cod. However I do meet up with friends on Sunday nights sometimes in Plymouth. We have a club called Mass Performance. www.massperformance.com I am currently developing the website.

The meets are going to vary in location. Plymouth would be a hot spot to have a meet. Will put it to a vote on the site.

As far as legalities I think it is "illegal" in most states to REMOVE the cat. Only illegal in the sense of annoying people with sound and it won't pass inspection. If you are replacing it with another Cat (high flow etc) I think inspection wise (emissions) you should be fine. But I am by far... no expert on Mass Law.

I am excited about the meet! Finally got my car back after 3 1/2 weeks of it being in the autobody shop.

I think roughly half of our members which is about 7. I am hoping more show but 7 is a good number, no doubt.

[edit] The numbers in the polls are leaning towards the members wanting to meet in the beginning of the month, so I dunno I am thinking maybe have a BBQ or tailgate the weekend before the 4th or the weekend after the 4th so we can start having our official meets. I hope a few of our gearhead members come to the meet. It is fun to share information.[/edit]

[edit2] I will send out an email asking folks to reply and let me know if they will make it so I can get a more solid number of attendees.[/edit2]

So far, from the replies I have gotten we have 7 cars attending. Awesome news. I am going to see if one of my buddies with a hot camera can come too so we can have good pictures.

BTW there is also an RX7 group that would be interested in an event with us, not this meet but perhaps our next one. We will talk more at the meet. This is fantastic news. Be sure to get the details from the calendar on the website. The map is linked in the cal event and is also available on the site. If you use chrome and have an android phone you can use chrome to phone to send the map directly to your phone and GPS.
