Can anyone local help me or suggest why after I changed my battery my power steering stopped working. I tried turning the wheel to the left and then right to "reset" whatever and also unplugging the battery and held the brake for one minute. None of these worked and the only other thing ive seen is checking two connections of the wires. I just wanted to see if anyone around me has had this problem and knew how to fix it.
Thanks for any help!

Haha, 'tis the solution for everything!
Actually I'm going to raise back up about 3/4 of an inch since I cant get my moarlow profile jack under the muffler or the front undertray :-P
The car felt pretty good, just a sniff of oversteer, the damping needs to be increased a bit front and rear, but particularly the front so im going to start investigating that next.
Here's video:
laxxman, unfortunately I don't have anything but horror stories regarding power steering issues, Jon was having a lot of problems with his but I don't think he would be able to tell you about any miraculous saves.
I'm sure there is a reliable systemic method for diagnosing the problem and I can also say with certainty that it is not what the dealer does! I hope it turns out to be a quick fix for you but I can peruse the forums and the greater interwebnetz to help you find a solution.

Also why did you replace the battery? Have you checked the voltage from your alternator? If it starts to dip the PS is the first thing to fail generally.

Represented the RX8 community yesterday with a class win at autocrossers inc. The car felt fantastic on the new suspension, just a few little tweaks to get it perfect.
I just registered for the Autocrossers Inc event in Waldorf on the 13th of September as well as the WDCR SCCA event at FedEx Field on the 20th of September.
Come on out if you can, hope to see some of you there.

CDC event this Saturday (and follow up test and tune on Sunday):
Capital Driving Club
and another AI event this Sunday:
Autocrossers, Inc.
I'll be doing just the AI event for a bigger lot and fiercer competition. Come on out, I'm happy to give tips and you're welcome to ride along. I firmly believe that no single form of motorsport makes you a better street driver than autocross. Don't miss the boat :-)

I ran my totally stock car in STX for two years before i did any mods at all since thats the class my buddies were running in. It's pretty competitive at the top of the time sheet but there's such a big variety of cars and skill levels that you should be able to stay off the bottom of the standings, especially with me coaching you ;-)
