Koons Mazda in Marlow Heights, MD has about 35 RX-8s in stock (that's not a typo...)
I walked their storage lot and picked mine. Got a great deal too. Titanium 6spd, Grand Touring, the works.
If you go there, ask for Derrick Byas and tell him Tim Poole referred you. Yes, I won't hide it...they give their customers $100 for each referral that buys.
See ya.

I was waiting till December hoping to get a good deal on an RX8. What kind of deal did you get if you don't mind me asking I might just make my purchase sooner.
bought my 02 millenia from them. Not the best sales experiance I've had. Will be getting an 8 soon but not from them. Not to be discouraging or anything. ~>insert sarcasm smiley<~

Got the car just under $33k, not including tax and tags. It's equipped as follows: (from the invoice....which they also provided to me.)
Titanium Gray, 6 spd MT
Black/Black Leather Interior
Cassette Player
In-Dash 6-Disc CD Player
Carpet Floor Mats
Portfolio
Moonroof Wind Deflector
Navigation System
Rear Wing Spoiler
Wheel Locks
Grand Touring Package M/T
Appearance Package
MSRP without dealer markup is $35,170. I think Koons puts approx. $1695 in markup on this car (if I remember correctly.)
The sticker on my car (asking price) was $36,865 and I got it for less than $33k.
My sales experience wasn't too bad....if you look past the fact that the "other" Derek who works there tried to take the sale (talked to one on the phone, the other grabbed me when I showed up.) It did take me 5 hours to complete the sale, the first 2 of which were spent waiting on my wife to get to the dealer to check out the car. If it weren't for the good deal, and the fact they gave the best trade-in offer on my Insight, I probably would have walked. Gotta tell you tho, pretty cool walking 2 rows on RX-8s and taking your pick!
I'd give them a shot if you're looking for one... and remember, tell them I sent ya!
