MD Engine flush

Has anyone ever used a product like BG EPR to flush their engine? If so, what results did you get? Also are oil additives good for the rotary engine?

It couldn't hurt but i doubt it will do anything really. But you could also just do a few short interval oil changes to ensure you are getting rid of all the old oil in the engine.

Second on occasionally performing few a short interval oil changes to refresh the oil in the coolers and sump. Clean oil is the lifeblood of a rotary.

No additives other than using the latest SN-grade oil made for gasoline engines. If your car is out of warranty you my follow the ex US guide in the RX-8 manual:

For me (under warranty) I use conventional [non-synthetic] 5W20 (SN-grade) and change this every 1000-1500 miles with a once a year frequent oil change interval (3 times ever 200 miles. I cannot install a SOHN adapter to run clean oil on my Series 2 so cleaner oil is my key to apex seal longevity. I also run 0.25 oz/ of JASO-FD grade synthetic 2-cycle oil in my gas tank and only use 91-93 octane gas.
