Sorry to hear that. I know exactly how it feels, my dad died almost 2 years ago after fighting it for 8 years.

Good luck.

Guess I should jump in here. All of you Wisconsin 8's should have been at MRR last weekend. Check out the RX Club of Wisconsin http://www.rxclubofwi.org/ for details.

As for me, 2004 GT in Waukesha. See the signature for details.

Two word: snow tires Seriously, It's my daily driver, and it drives fine in snow.

So we have a few people in Waukesha area...I'm down there almost every Saturday now, maybe we should meet up some time...

I'm game. I just installed my first mod this past weekend and I must say it sounds great. Sad you have to pay so much for sound but worth it for the smile it brought to my face.

Must have installed an exhaust then?

Exhaust is on my short(ish) list of mods to do next year. My 8's going into storage for the winter and while it's stored I'm sending off my PCM for the Racing Beat reflash. I also plan on getting a new clutch and the RB flywheel to be installed next summer, hopefully by MazdaManiac & crew @ their new shop in Phoenix - my sister lives there and I'll be visiting her, so I thought I'd get some modding done while I'm there Until I checked out the DIY for installing a clutch I had vague notions of doing it myself. Yeah, nooooo thanks!

For now I've been satisfied with appearance mods - strakes, clear corners, and just this week Evo-R eyelids. I can't express how much I love them!

Mine is my daily as well. I strongly recomenrd the Dunlop Sport M3's, I put these on this past winter. With all the snow we got it was just fine. The only thing that anything above 4 inches can be tricky.

That's when you take traction control off...I had to do that to get myself onto the driveway. The TC won't let the engine go above 3000rpm with the rear spinning. Otherwise, keep it on, make life easier in snow.

Even my Subaru AWD has issues with more than 4 inches of snow, but I was more concerned about regular light snow and slipperly road conditions. But it's great to know from you guys how it really feels with a RX-8 during winter since winter months in WI seems to be my only deal breaker I had for this car...I don't think it's no longer an issue, now it's matter of finding a 06/07 8 for me! thanks!

Unfortunately the WI people don't get together. Instead I attend the Chicago meet which every first Saturday of the month. It's a great bunch of 8 & 7 owners. You should check it out in Sept. We can even meet up in the Janesville are and cruise down there, being that I pass Janesville all the time.

Kong,
Keep tabs on the RX Club of Wisconsin site (http://www.rxclubofwi.org/) and their forum for some Wisconsin events. We had a great time at MRR/Road America two weekends ago.

I used to own a BB '04... bought it in 04...

Unfortunately traded it in when I got the Charger I have now, but I am DEFINATELY looking at an RX8 again... I miss diving it..

I now live in Muskego, and commute to Downtown Milwaukee... be nice to do that trip in a Rotary again!

Yeah all this rainy weather is cutting into the quality time with my 8. The stock tires are definitely not the greatest in wet weather, especially because I have a base 8 without the DSC to save my butt if I lose traction.

The other day I happened to catch a bit of the Generac 500 (i think that's what it was) and they mentioned that it was at Road America - made me wish I had gone out there - the track looks very nice. It'd be even better if Mazda would loan me a 787b to drive

I'm up for a meet guys, as long as it's not the first weekend of each month, I've got drill.
