Mileage and Tires

I picked up my RX8 on 8/4/2003 and I have about 20,000 miles on it. I have lived on the north side of Chicago and now in Aurora. Anybody else put this many miles on and have they seen any problems. The car has been very good (excellent) up to this point except for one thing recently. I started noticing a noise in the rear end. Took it into the dealer (Bill Jacobs in Aurora) and they said they could not find anything and I should take it to a Bridgestone/Firestone dealer (just down the street from the Mazda dealer) and have them look at the tires. The tire dealer said the wear looked uneven so they rotated them and they still make the sound. The tires have only been rotated twice, not including today. I think I need to get some new tires and rotate them more frequently.

I have the same issue with my car now at just over 10,000 miles. The tires were cupping really bad on both the outside and inside edges of them in both the front and back. I have rotated them twice since the car was new. I had it in to the dealership last week and had it aligned, balanced, and rotated. Still make a shitload of noise, but I'm hoping that it was just out of alignment and that maybe the tires will start to wear down a ittle more evenly and the noise will diminish after a couple thousand more miles.

If not, I will be off to buy some new tires because I cannot stand that noise. It is irritating as hell. I WILL NOT be buying the same crap tires that came on the car new!
