Hey there Fellow Rotary heads.

The Michigan RX owners have been having a good time getting together. I'd like to expand on this and pick a central location that we can all get to and have a great time.

What are your thoughts about a meet in Sandusky, Ohio at Cedar Point?

We can arrange for seperate caravans to organize in various areas such as Ann Arbor, Columbus, Cincinatti, Pittsburgh, South Bend, etc.; and then all converge on a meeting spot close to the park. From there we gather up and roll into the park at one time so we can take a section of the lot.

I'll toss out some dates as this will take a bit of planning. Please vote on a date if you're interested.

Post up any suggestions or if you'd like to volunteer to lead a group in your area.
I'll start a new thread with all the details after we nail down a date.

Hopefully we can make this happen if you're interested!

I pick August 4th, only because it is my dad's birthday. Rock on!!!

That's the spirit! My father-in-law's B-day is the 5th.

It's possible to make this an overnight trip if needed. I assumed we'd stay as late as you need and leave the park when you want.

Depending on the final count, I may check with Six Flags to see if we get any special treatment for coming in as a group. (Early entry, backstage tours, etc...)

Please feel free to bring the wife, girlfriend, mistress, kids or all of the above. (I know there's only so much room in the 8!) The park has a pavillion that we can meet at before entering, grill out during lunch or just use as a meeting place.

I'm honestly open to any of these dates. I'll keep in mind any conflicts you guys post up.

Maybe throw this at the chicago rotary people as well. I've been to cedar point before and it is not out of our range, and I think we would have a handful of people that would jump on this. Chicagorotary.com

Sooo...are you actually requesting that we assemble together on the 4th or are you just voting for it for the above reason. Are you going to be able to attend if it's your dad's b-day??

Of course I'd be there. I have my priorities straight! LOL. He's my father-in-law and he lives in Tennessee. (So there are no issues with attending.)

Regardless of which weekend is selected, I will be there.

Awesome! You guys rock! It's nice to see members willing to make a drive like that when I struggle to locals to attend. LOL

The Michigan caravan would be glad to meet up with you guys as you get on the Ohio Turnpike.

Cool! Should we say that the 11th is the date? It seems that so far it will work out for everyone.

It's leaning that way, but I'm not ready to call it yet. Let's wait a little bit.

BTW: I greatly appreciate the help. I love seeing enthusiasm like this!!

This should be a really good time! I've organized a few events over the years and they've all gone well.

After this one is done, expect I'll be rallying the troops to attend the BOTD event in September. (Now that is a blast!)

I voted for Aug. 25th because I was potentially planning on going that day already, but keep in mind that it is an outside chance. True to my screen name, it would be a family trip for me (wife and 2 kids) if I did end up going.

The poll is looking pretty clear so far. I'll close this on Friday night and set the firm plans in place on Saturday am.

My company is having an outting at Cedar Point on the 11th. I wasn't planning on driving the 8 out there, but I may reconsider if this meeting takes place. I can try and round up the Columbus folks.
