Question RX-8 clubs

There is a 100+ member Miata club in Colorado that is very active. I don't know of any similar rotary or RX-7 club in the area. I am thinking there won't be enough RX-8 owners or interest to form a club at least in the next year or so. Anyone have club plans or ideas for a creative merger?

As you can see, there's not much support for the 8 on the Mountain forum, let alone enough for an RX-8 club! I don't know what the Miata crowd is like, but one adopting the RX-8 might be a bit odd. Maybe we could get one going....

Where are you located in CO?

D-san

There is work underway right now to form at least a National Registry and Club in the United States. As this developes, there will be some new posts out here in the forum. Stay tuned...:p

Hi D-san, I am near Boulder. I agree the Miata club would look on us as odd and if more than one RX-8 showed up at an event then there would be social division

Well, just wait until the car becomes available, then there will be a little more interest. The influx of new Rotary cars should increase interest from other rotary owners in at least an informal rotary club. But I don't see the size getting close to the Miata following for several years to come, and not unless another RX7 is produced (those would more more "enthusiastic" type people than the general public who would buy the RX8).

We could form a Rocky Mountain 8 club. I wouldn't be apposed to driving to the meets every month. Now I know that I'm one of the few and proud Utah members but come on guys we'd have to have at least a few meets here in my area so the club would grow from people seeing the club around :D

Yes it would be small, but all good things usually start small, and you have to start somewhere.

Well for the past year and a half me and some other people off rx7club.com were trying to put together meets. It worked out every once in awhile, but conflicting schedules and **** like that killed it. Possibly we could put something tongether.

I'm in

All,

I'd be interested in a club. Good to have a reason to drive down in my black RX-8 from Fort Collins.
