the only piece of emissions equipment on the car is the cat, really so if its running ok, and doesn't pass cat is probably dead. however if its really close you might try some alcohol, or one of those "clean power" kind of additives.

Hello, I hate to bother but I was told by another member u have quite a bit of experience when it comes to smog testing rotaries. I have failed 4 times. HC are the reason I'm not passing, despite all the other passing numbers, and everything looking good on the scanner. I still replaced my ignition system and I still don't pass I know it might be the cat. But before I dig deep to purchase one. Are there any tricks I'm missing. Something I didn't do right? I thought borrowing one was so simple. Not so much. Lol thanks
