Just need a few pointers if you can help? My 17 yr old son came home with a 2004 RX8 2 days ago. Without consent to purchase. He doesn't know anything obviously yet. I done quite a bit of reading in 24 hours. I don't even want to to attempt driving without knowing fully if the maintenance level on this car is even up to date, or what to look for. He won't admit it but he had no idea what he was getting into. What should I do? I feel like I/we need a crash course on this car!

Ok, I just got a mazda rx8. I like it but..... people say it's a bad car to get lots of problems with it. so i want to make it go fast. so i went to a web site rx8shope.com and looking at the cold air intakes but i have no idea which one is the best to use. OR even if it is going to do anything to the car?? so i just need some advise i found 3 cold air intakes for the mazda rx8. AEM, K&N short ram and injen short ram.

I am somewhat new to modifying my RX8, and as I see you have an RX7. Leading on to the subject of this message. Here I have a URL that contains a part I would like on my car. It is a 4150 Flanged Quad Throttle Body for my RX8. The upgrades that I have on now are (WeaponR) Cold Air Intake, (KOSpeed) exhaust and headers. With this throttle body I'm hoping to put more torque on my car. From friends that are more knowledgeable on modifying there cars they didn't know why it had 4 holes in it as suppose to one. I also found a program for my throttle body which I will send to you as well. If its not difficult to ask I need help on these products. No one around where I live know anything about RX8's. As I said earlier, my other friends were confused to viewing this throttle. I'd greatly appreciate if you could tell me or provide me with research on this particular product.

    Thank you.

In my opinion yes. Every car I have seen on a dyno has had no horsepower improvement with the cold air system, it just makes more noise.
