Any updates here?

Also, did we determine what all is needed to do the full transition to the R3 front with the splitter setup? I'm curious about what the cost will be for all of that in addition to the bumper, so I can have the proper amount set aside by shipping time.

Worst news possible!

I was informed on Friday that the bumpers in color will not be coming as Mazda has discontinued them. This is more than 90% my fault as I did not order as early as I should have. This may be my most embarrassing transaction to date.

I will be refunding all monies today Monday April 8th. I will try to devise a way to compensate people for the time wastage and tie up of their funds as well.

Brendan, Matt, Justin and Jack: Please pm me and/ or email me if you have anything else you want me to do in relation to this. I will leave this thread open in case you have thoughts you think you want to share here publicly as well.

Once again, I'm super sorry for the failure of service and delivery.

Two more things:

My phone number, if you wish to talk about your orders (Or cuss ) 800-221-5156

And I can still bring the unpainted ones and charge less, taking 0 payment until they are here.

I still might be interested in an unpainted one with all the necessary hardware to install it, depending on how expensive it would be for me to get it painted at my body shop or the performance shop I've been using for many years.

Yeah that is a bummer. Was so looking forward to the painted ones....unpainted and shipped would probably be the same price as if I were to buy at local dealership I think?

My coded email is correct. 3rd entry.

My coded email is correct, I'm the last entry there. I'll send you it letter for letter in a PM, Paul, since it's a pretty uncommon thing.

Completely bummed about this :[....seeing as we were reaching the time for them to hit the soil in Georgia, I really didn't think there were any issues at hand. I was hoping to get it pre-painted, since Sparkling Black Mica seems like it'd be a total pain to color match....although I have my local painter checking into variations tomorrow, in the interest of researching an unpainted bumper. How much would one unpainted run, as well as a price including all the parts necessary to attach it and the splitter, Paul? If things come in at a price that seems right, I may just order it unpainted.

My address there is correct...

I guess I'll try to source an unpainted one locally.

Sucks because I was putting everything off for after this would arrive.

Thank you, Paul...I appreciate the generous compliment. I try my best.
Do you have any news on how much the parts would come to? I'd assume you'll have to PM me, but I figured I'd post here.

Just for some clarification..

The 7 x EA01-50-037 Rivets are for the Air Dam (Spoiler Skirts), not for the Fender liner support, these use 8 x BN8F-50-355 Rivets for the mounting of the *Liner Block to the Bumper Face/Skin.
*Just a warning on these 3 different parts (Rivets and 2 Liner Supports/Blocks), as I do not have a new unpainted R3 Bumper Cover handy, you may find that these 2 parts are already attached (by BN8F Rivets) to the new OEM unpainted Bumper. (so some $$'s 'could' be saved here).

As for availability of OE Painted Bumpers from factory, in almost all cases once a car ceases actual line production the painting of said parts are NLA, yes there are some exceptions (depending on stocks), but purely for inventory purposes Mazda and most car makers are not going to hold 15+ different painted bars from their paint shop in Parts Warehouse as it is uneconomical, most collision parts are black/grey and locally painted to cars colour code @ crash repairer.

Also the F189-51-731 front 'M' Badge is identical to the one already on your S2 Bumper, so unless you break it removing then money can be saved there too.

I've been reading this thread but am having difficulty making heads or tails out of it. I'm interested in buying the R3 front bumper and side skirts for my '09 Touring Model. The problem is, I've only been able to find them online as part od a Japanese Domestic Product. It is really expensive and I don't know if the bumper and side skirts will fit the U.S. model. Can you help me find an R3 front bumper and side skirts?

You won't be able to buy the prepainted R3 bumpers from Japan any longer. We already tried. They have been discountinued.

You can buy a non prepainted R3 bumper in the U.S. and have it painted. You can buy pre painted R3 side skirts in the U.S. as well. But they are pricey.

If you tell us your color/color code we can post up the part numbers for the side skirts. Also the bumper part number if you want but it won't be painted.

F1Y7-50-03XB-BB = R3 bumper - NOT PAINTED

F197-51-P40A-PZ = R3 side skirt Brilliant Black
F197-51-P50A-PZ = R3 side skirt Brilliant Black.

Please double check numbers before ordering - also just so you know, the side skirts do not come with any installation instructions. They are a replacement item only and boxed that way. You are on you own on drilling the holes if you decide to mount them that way. If you order the side skirts from Japan - they come as an accessory - and they include the template for drilling. At least that is what I've heard.

You can order these parts from any Mazda dealer or from one of the many online dealers. Since you posted in the Mazmart thread - you should order from them.

Also remember that you'll still need a couple items for the R3 bumper - that part number above is just the cover with no additional.

For anyone on RX-8 club I will do that cover for $332. Each skirt for $587 (They retail for $785 ea). If you are close enough to pick up then you would save BIG TIME avoiding shipping.

I've been wanting an R3 bumper since I bought the car. I just can't find a decent body shop that won't charge an arm and a leg for painting.....

Sigh, but that's what I get for living in one of the highest cost of living cities in the country.

Part Numbers are provided above the same ones I used... for the front bumper cover I paid $345.61 + 150.00 shipping from Online Mazda Parts

and I have a Sparkling Black Mica... got the cover painted for $240.oo with a military discount. I bought different side skirts so can't help you there... but you can check out my SBM in the last posts on this thread Knight Sports Lip or RE Amemiya front bumper

any questions just ask bro we're here to help..
Also for the spoilers that are under the bumper?

F197-51-9H1A - Spoiler end 2009-11, w/large spoiler Right $97.67
F197-51-9L1A - Spoiler end 2009-11, w/large spoiler Left $97.67
F197-51-9K1B - Spoiler center 2009-11, w/side spoiler, large spoiler $306.79

I bought the "spoiler end large left/right" at my local dealer for ~$75 dollars so I wouldn't pay for shipping.
And for the Spoiler center? Just used my NON R3 center spoiler and force fit it... and used the $300 dollars to pay for shipping on my RE Amemiya R3 CF lip lol...

BUT i would check with MazMart first great prices and he'll help you out... I got my wheel/fender liners there after searching forever!
