I wonder if I can fit that bumper cover in the back of my 2012 Focus hatchback? If so, I would have it delivered to my work if that will cut shipping costs. The seats fold down. Or maybe I'll just take a road trip down to GA.... We'll be out of winter in 6 months, and there's got to be some fun stuff to see on the way. Even at 38 mpg, it would probably cost more to drive there and back, especially with a hotel stay.

Just saw this now, as I've been quite busy this week -___-. I'm really glad that there has been such a positive response, and everyone is finding it to their benefit. Is there anyone in the Mid-Atlantic region that's going to be ordering as well? If so, maybe we can share a shipping location and benefit on splitting the cost. I live just outside of Baltimore, and work at (please don't flame me :P) a Honda dealer, so there might be some benefit to shipping to my work, or possibly whomever else is in the area has an even better option.

Here's my information to add to the summary post:

aprtur - Sparkling Black Mica - Baltimore, MD - deposit sent

Paul - I'm sending my payment via PayPal right now, sorry for the delay. If possible, can you PM me at some point for my phone number (if you don't happen to get it in the PayPal order for some reason), so that when the shipment date approaches, we can either talk via phone or text messages? Seeing as I saw this message on the forum late, I do not want to run into any snags when wrapping up the purchase comes about. I will potentially be moving in the coming months, and want to verify my shipping address with you when it comes time to ship. Also, for the benefit of those here...do you have an idea of if you could get a good deal on the lower splitter parts for us (and what those would cost)? I know I also mentioned side skirts to you as well...maybe we can work something out for having those and the bumper cover shipped to me at the same time, even if it requires another delay....we can discuss this further via PM or whatever.
Also....thank you for keeping in touch with me, and seeing this through. Your dedication for working with me from the beginning to put this all together has honestly astounded me. Good customer service would be an understatement...you've shown dedication and kindness to a fellow rotor-head who would gladly consider you a friend if you'd accept it. I'll definitely have to make a trip down to Georgia at some point to shake your hand and give you a genuine "thank you" in person...you've helped me a boatload with parts for my 8, and I greatly appreciate all you've done for me.

JRX13 - Really glad that I happened to catch your posts about creating a CWP "R3" in the US, and that you've found this to your benefit as well :]. Here's to us non-R3 owners wanting that aggressive R3 ground effects kit!

Yes sir, I got your payment. I am hoping to surprise with the other pieces yet at some point.
It was funny that others paid before you as you were the crusader for this project.

My location is mid-Michigan. I work in Auburn Hills, though, so the Detroit area could work for me, too.

The plan at this time is to close this particular group buy down by next week Friday evening, November 16th so that the official order begins and the clock starts. Anyone else wanting in now knows the time limit.

Glad everything came through alright. A surprise with the other pieces sounds like a wonderful gift that will come with 2013 :]. I'll definitely be wanting the lower splitter pieces for my bumper, so hopefully that's part of what you have in mind. A question of note, actually....do these bumper covers come with the three grilles already, or are those something we have to transfer over from our stock bumper?

Ah, yesss :P....I would have been the first payment in, had I seen the posts earlier..haha. Things have been a bit stressful lately, so I hadn't been on my computer to flip around here. I'll be keeping up with things more often from here on out. It definitely makes me happy that this has come together for everyone, and I appreciate that you took the time to indulge my initial idea :]. As always, keep me up to speed on everything.

This is likely a dumb question, but will this fit a series I?

I'm not interested in purchasing at this time, but may be in the future, assuming of course that this would fit my series I.

No, not a dumb question but no, they will only fit series II. This purchase is a good one for someone who wants to get the R3 bumper for a non R3 vehicle in their color already painted by Mazda. It's also good for the owner of an R3 who may want to have a spare in the event of a minor or major situation down the road.

They come naked. You would indeed have to switch your stuff over.

Paul, just want to verify. Since this is an imported bumper, I want to make sure they don't have headlight washers cutouts in the bumpers. Thanks.

Also for the other purchasers, you would at least have to transfer your mazda emblem with new hardware. The emblem uses speed nuts and they are far easier to just cut off and put new ones on I think then trying to save them. Or buy another emblem and not bother with transferring it over.

These part numbers may help those who need it and I'm sure Paul will give you great prices on them if you want them.

Mazda emblem - F189-51-731
speed nuts qty. 2 - 99578-3000

Another thing. From my research on the forum, you can install the R3 bumpers without the lower lip pieces and it "should" fit. But couple other posts on the forum say that the fender liners (or maybe they mean the vent louvers?) are different between the R3 and you should at least get those. I've been trying to find the different part numbers but can't come up with it. So don't know if this is true or not.

These are the numbers I have found online. If there are differnent R3 versions, please let us know so we can order from Paul as well.

left fender liner - F189-56-14ZC
right fender liner - F189-56-13ZC
left vent louver - F189-56-14YD
right vent louver - F189-56-13YD

I'm pretty sure you and I worked out the proper part numbers for bumpers that don't have the cutouts, Paul, but I'd also like to make sure we've already tracked down the correct ones. IIRC, Europe was the only place that had the headlight washers, so this shouldn't be a problem...but it doesn't hurt for Jack and I to check.

With regards to the emblem and speednuts....I'd assume these would be cheap for you to get us to ship with our bumpers? I'm thinking that'd make a good part of the package, considering these are already painted (I mean...who would buy a painted bumper to sand down the emblem and repaint?).

As for the fender liners...do you have any cars handy to check this, Paul, or possibly just the ability to crosscheck the part numbers? I'm planning on having you get the splitters for me to send with the bumper, but I didn't even think of checking to see if the fender liners are different between the R3 and Sport/Touring/GT models. Good catch on this one in order to make everything go smoothly, Jack.

Yes, our part numbers are correct and do not have washer cut outs. The fender liner part numbers are the same between cars with what Mazda calls 'side spoiler small' and 'side spoiler large' so no worries there. Speed nuts and emblems will be a breeze.

Paul.

Fender Liners for the S1 & S2 are the same, but you need a small piece that connects the front outside corner of the fender liner to the R3 bumper due to it being wider. Its a triangular shape and believe each piece (L/R) are about $60 ea.

You also need a piece that connects the middle lower air dam to the under cover.

Fog lights are the same. (Expensive if you don't already have.)

Headlights are same fit but different (HID).

Emblem for the bumper is the same.

Center Grill is the same.

You need the lower Large Spoilers for the corners of the front bumper as well.

I'm actually going to mount it without the three lower lip pieces a la Stewiefied's RX-8 for now. I guess I'll just wait when the bumper shows up and see what additional pieces are a must.

Well, here's essentially what the plan is for my car, minus the fact that I'm SBM and have RPF1s (and I'm not going to be slamming my car this low). Seeing RMXG8's car gave me a good idea of what the R3 aero would look like on a Sport/Touring/GT, where we wouldn't have the huge loop spoiler.

Totally forgot about his car...and it actually looks pretty darned good without sideskirts or the front side splitter pieces. Have you asked him if there's any additional mounting hardware needed (added on to what's on our existing bumpers) to get to the point he's at? Definitely curious.

Also, I looked at the parts diagram for the fender liners and the front bumper...ZumnRX8, what triangular piece are you referring to? Also, what would be needed to connect the lower air dam to the under tray that we wouldn't already have with our stock bumpers?

Item #4 (Left, Right) They hold your fender liner in place to keep from flapping around once you have the R3ront.

So, other than the Mazda emblem, are these the only things needed to fit this R3 bumper cover onto non-R3 SII cars? From what I've read in this thread, it appears to be the case. I'm still trying to decide if I like the look better with or without the small splitter parts (which probably cost a fortune). I think I like it better without them. It's a clean look.
