Looking for two OEM parts ("JDM") for a CX-5

Irrelevant to the usual RX-8 parts demand, but I see that Mazmart supplies parts to other cars too. I am looking for foglight equipped rear reflector housings for the CX-5.

Parts numbers are:

KD31-51-5MO and KD31-51-5LO

The Part Number end letter is a number zero 0 not letter O...

Mazda does not use letter O's in Part Numbers.

Apologies. I started a thread asking international CX-5 consumers (Euro/Japan) about their rear fogs. I was provided said part number. Was hoping there was some what for me to scoop them up!

I ordered some parts from Japan last evening and then this morning, while getting ready to go to church I remembered that I did not ask about your stuff as yet. Someone needed a ride this afternoon somewhere close to Mazmart, so, here I am. I have sent the question to Japan now so we can have an answer in the morning. Sorry for the delay.

Paul.

Not wishing to tramp on anyones toes (Paul), but have been doing some investigation into these CX-5 Rear Fogs.

There is only ONE of the TWO Fogs which are an actual Fog Lamp with one replaceable globe 12V21W for Europe...as standard original equipment.

It depends on which side of the road you drive, RHD has a RH Rear Fog Light, LHD has a LH Rear Fog Light, the opposite is just a Reflector, like US and Aust.

If SNTP wants a Fog on BOTH sides then it is possible, however wiring will have to be made, which will have to be done anyway, there could be wiring already there...??..Plus you will need to find a ON/Off Switch.

The OE 'Rear Fog Switch' is on the Turn Signal (Indicator Stalk) Combination Switch with Front and Rear Fog.

Anyway these are the numbers I come up with for Rear Fogs on both sides..

KD81-51-650A Fog Lamp Rear Right (RHD for Britain)
KD53-51-660A Fog Lamp Rear Left (LHD)

You are right. Thanks for the parts number correction!

I was able to request an owner of a British CX-5 to take pictures of his rear fog light and indicator stalk. The ring switch on the indicator stalk is spring loaded for rear fog activation. Also our North American gauge cluster lacks both front and rear fog light indicators (can tell at certain angles of direct lighting onto cluster).

I haven't had the opportunity to check for wiring or look at my reflector housings up close yet. But I was able to access a pop out panel in the rear wheel well that leads to the back of the reflector housings. I'm almost 100% sure the panel is there specifically for changing fog light bulbs. I was able to feel around and found what may be a dummy bulb plug on the housing.

Here are the pictures.

MMmm...I really don't know M8, wiring loom part number sourcing is just a bloody headache (always hated them for nearly 40 years), anyway they (Mazda shows many loom part numbers)..

Did an actual check for you, and yes there are literally tens and tens of rear Wiring Harnesses @ about $1000 a piece.

I really doubt you will also have the Dash wiring there for the Steering Wheel Combination Switch for both front and rear Fogs for actual Switches and Wiring.??

You might have to run your own 12 Volt twin flex wire (about 10 amps)...I have included Part Sketch of RHD (UK) Rear Fogs...see RHD and RH side only has the Globe, Socket.
It looks like you may be able to drill out rear Reflector fitting and perhaps turn into a Fog Light..

Can anyone confirm what the actual item is for the parts number provided? Is it even a reflector housing and does it come with an opening for a bulb?

M8, I am backing aways from this thread as clearly Mazmart would not be happy with my posting..

What I will tell you is the Part Numbers you originally posted is what is already on your CX-5 (US Spec)....Reflectors ONLY... if fitted..

KD31-51-5M0 and KD31-51-5L0

These Reflectors are a sealed unit...see parts sketch below....you will have to see if you can open up, I doubt Paul has them or will buy in just to find out if you can open them up...I suggest you remove one from your car (if fitted?)...IMO they will be glued together.

I do not know what Part Numbers Paul has just priced for you..

If you want the CX-5 Rear FOG Lights with actual globe and fittings then I have posed Part Numbers as I see them, and AFAIK Paul will have to source for you outside of USA.
