Just a reminder that ham is really not the best selection for Easter Sunday dinner. May I suggest rabbit, goose, turkey, or a nice pot roast instead?
Nice try! I'm going to my sister's and she's serving ham... sorry dude.

Doing a duck (oranges, rosemary and a sweet wine reduction) and a leg of lamb (lots of garlic, fresh rosemary, with mint or red current jelly - the bread will rise while we are at church - some strawberries and porch grapes we froze last summer, candied carrots (for the kids), deviled eggs (to get rid of all the colored ones), artichokes, and spinach for muscles like Pop-eye, and a real Italian salad with the fresh olive oil that our neighbor pressed, and the sweet balsamic vinegar is from the old country.
But, first to church and then home for the dinner and then everyone will sit around trying to loosen belts and Mom will get out the old picture albums and happy noises until bed time - and then finally we get the house back to ourselves!
Im going to stand outside a chruch and protest the use of real eggs and the eating of ham, how can they celebate one life by destroying another?!.. JUST KIDDING!!!!!!! HAHA.. Im going to my moms to make easter baskets and hide eggs for my little cousins.. They think my mom is there grandma and Im there aunt... Im so close in age with my moms 2 little borhters we actually ride the school bus together as kids... Happy Easter everyone!!

I sure wish you could have contacted me sooner but we have a few logistics problems...I think you are about an hour away and you will need a guide car 'cause we are just a little bit in the boonies...
If you could drop by Monday, When I am not running herd over the relatives, I'll treat you to a steak salad at Parkfield, - seriously, my treat (I am tired of sheep!) - and if you don't have the day off we might be able to get you released after work until curfew - Feed you Mexican at Dos Padres - it's probably closer to your base if you are at Roberts or Hunter-Leggett... That would take about an hour each way - if you are at Campl SLO that's about an hour and a half - You aren't at East Garrison are you? Monterey is about 3 hours and anyplace else is about a day!
Are you really in this area? Monday, I could try to meet you in front of the old mission, and then I could play tour guide for you from there - and Mom would love to talk your ear off! Tell me where you are and I will try and guide you as far as the Mission! We will even bring pictures! This could be a real hoot!
Seriously, you are probably just jerking my chain, and getting my apron in a bunch, but are you really in the area? Do you need transportation?
lamb chops, asst sweat / yellow potatoes / salmon stuffed with crab meat / some breads .. rye as well ... and maybee some eggs // i may be missign some things...

question for you guys...
as you grow/grew older, do the holidays seem to drop in significance? if so, does it come back later in life?
I'm 22 and I've noticed since my last couple years of hs that each year I seem to care less and less about the holidays...anyone else feel similar?
Good question Aero8. They dropped in significance for me. Example: For a while in my 20's and 30's, I stopped doing Christmas altogether, and then I started do it on a very small scale. I do holidays now more because they get family and friends together in one place - it's less about the actual holiday. On this forum, I just like modding people's avatars and holidays give me an excuse to

I know, although I have no connection to that part of Easter... It was that I just woke up and it was quite a shock seeing a dead bunny first thing...
