Xoom anybody??

Anybody swing out the cash yet to get the xoom?? I'm a forum member of droid-life and happened to catch the 200 dollars off on it at the motorola site. So now I'm starting the process of making a customized dock for it (taking out the nav hood). Being a post iPad owner, I must say that the xoom does wonders around the ipad. Once the updates come, the ipad won't even compare. I'll have pics up along the way during the process!

what motorola site deal?!?!?! im really interested in it. spent some time a couple of days ago and today with it at best buy and costco.

im a little put off by the price but im not really looking for a 3g/4g one either . I think the price is actually pretty good if you want the Gs (all the tablets are about $100 too much really)

the Samsung 10.1 is undoubtedly going to be cheaper and the Wifi should be cheaper than the Xoom wifi as they will have a 16GB model which it doesnt look like the Xoom will.

The Sammy doesnt appear to have an HDMI out which is really annoying. There's a new DLNA certified app which will handle that of course but id like a wired option.

Loved the Playbook when I was at CES BUT Id prefer a 10inch display.

I probably wont make any decisions at all until I can try the HP TouchPad in person. I like what Im seeing from WebOS now

Vizio has also announced a tablet but I didnt get to see it at CES. They have some interesting integration coming with that and their TVs etc and will have On live built in which I think is a great idea.

It was for the 3G/4G Xoom. Man I am in love with the thing. I wouldn't fork out the 799, but for 599 I couldn't pass it up. Motorola had it (mistakingly) for 25% off on the day of launch, so I got a decent deal on it without being tied to a contract. I'm not a fan of WebOS, can't stand apple, and I really wanted HDMI out (plus it does screen cloning!) so thats why I went with the Xoom. And I really love the OEM motorola accessories. I can't stand my factory nav in my car and never could compared to google maps, so that's why I am really integrating it into the car.

The xoom seems like a great device. I recently got the atrix which is also running the tegra 2, but with different drivers. Why's that good? The xoom has already been overclocked using setCPU (app available in the market) to 1.5 GHz. That would be one of the first things I'd do if I got one.

Definitely might find myself looking to pick up a tablet now that android is coming out with some really impressive options.

oh-MSI will have the Wind tablet out soon too. heres vid from cebit. it will have 3.0 at launch. has the mini hdmi ips display optical mouse accelerometer

no on that demo- honeycomb on production devices
