Hmmmm….so a guy at work has been looking for a new car for a while (he has a purple camaro…anniversary edition or something…he friggin LOVES it)
So today he told me he has to show me his new toy, and he got an '07 Mustang Rausch Stage 2 edition. It was 50 grand!!! For a Mustang!! I figured that since it was Rausch, it would have a bunch of performance mods, but the only performance mod on it is a new exhaust…so it looks to me like he just blew $50k on a Mustang GT with a body kit, short throw shifter, and aftermarket exhaust. I guess the leather interior has different colors, too. Oh yeah, there was some carbon fiber on the dash, too.
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like a waste of $50k! I'm not a fan of Mustangs anyways, but for a Mustang it looked nice…but I don't think getting a body kit and a bunch of Rausch stickers. I have to say, I'd take my 8 over his $50k 'stang any day!!

Even if you drop enough money for a GT500 or anything like that -- yeah it will go fast in a straight line. but that's it. For all that money you don't even get an independent rear suspension.
Ford has to come out with all these stripe packages, GT-H ****, and tons of iterations of the same thing because the car is so common. When you have to spend extra money to differentiate yourself from all the thousands of young stupid chicks that drive cheap V6 Mustangs... thats a problem.
For 50G's he could have got a sweet *** 335i or an optioned out G35c. If you are going to spend 50K - you could get a LOT more car for the money.
If I was a Nascar loving mullet head, I'd drop 50k on a 'stang. I probably would of bought a 2Xk GT and tossed 20+k of extra umph into it, but we can't all be thinkers. If you knew your friend was going to drop 50k on a mustang, wouldn't it be your mistake for not building it for 35k and making a 10k profit by selling it to him for 45k? Heck, you would of saved him 5k! Sheesh man! Opportunity missed!
maybe he is making payments, and didn't have cash up front to fix it up and wanted something nice right off the bat. that might be what was going through his head. playin devils advocate.
I just can't get over the fact that there is even such a thing as a $50k Mustang...and it isn't supercharged...
Actually, no...I can't get over the fact that there is any suck thing as a $50k Mustang...period
My friend spent about $40k for his Roush. Bodykit, suspension, interior carbon fibers, spoiler, etc, but stayed with the GT engine. We were all noobs at the time, the car is great, but for that money....ouch. And most of our group of guys would probably pick my rx8 between the two if they had to choose a car.
He's a really sensible and responsible kid and never goes over the speed limit though, so I guess it doesn't matter. I haven't even seen him redline that thing despite our constant egging. He said he'll let me test drive it sometime...ahh, torque.
