I am starting this thread to see what people would have done if they were in my shoes when I purchased my car.
I have a 04 6MT, Lightning Yellow, base edition (No sunroof in other words). I have installed a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT (Full Nav, DVD, 7" Touchscreen), as well as the Deluxe Katzkin Black and Yellow Leather interior. It also came with CAI, and I gutted the cat (It was clogged).
I was offered a 04 6MT Velocity Red GT model, with around the same mileage as me (7,000KM less), but no modifications at all that I am aware of.
Of course I kept my LY, just wondering what you would have done? Understanding that the GT model has more options like moonroof and what not.
Just curious to see what others would have done in my shoes!

I would have kept the yellow as well. The yellow is a fairly rare color and looks good on the 8. One of the few cars I'd be willing to own in yellow.
The fact that the yellow car was already your car adds some value too, I think. It would have had to have been a much better offer for me to think it would be worth it. The change from base to GT would not be worth it, in my opinion.
Keep it...god knows what's wrong with his! Plus, that little bit of mileage saved wouldn't match up to what you've done to your car + the familiarity of everything.

Other thing that I didn't think about... even if you did a direct swap, you'd end up having to pay for registration and taxes, I believe. There might be some way around paying taxes for a direct swap, but I'm pretty sure you'd end up having to pay something. Even if it's just a few hundred dollars, I wouldn't pay to go through all the trouble for very little gained.
