I kept my stock tires on RX8, and decided to not use it in winter. I've been able to use it a few times this winter while snow was on hold, but the past 6 weeks have been blistering with large amounts of snow in my area. I guess I have no right to complain because I bought an STI for winter use, but it's making me miss the rx8. The all seasons on the STI took away a lot of it's handling, but it is serving it's purpose. I just cannot wait for that nice day where I can wash my cars, detail them, and cruise. The STI has accumulated massive miles, and it's time for RX8 to share in on the fun. I guess I went reverse on my purchases. I am taking a limited performance car and using it like a Toyota corolla, and taking a highly produced practical sports car and treating it like a Ferrari. I'll be damned if I let the RX8 get salt on it. The STI, well it's flat getting abused by winter, and will be a POS before too long, but it sure is dependable, and gets very respectable gas mileage (25mpg highway, 22mpg overall). Any other fairweather RX8 owners around feeling my pain?

Don't hate me too much. I'm making huge payments on STI, and it was a big price to pay for having both. I have owned the STI for 6 months and put on over 11k miles. I have owned the RX8 for over a year and still managed 9500 miles. I'm gonna easily be putting 12-15k a year on RX8 as spring summer and fall car. I am gonna be loading the miles on rx8 soon to catch up to STI, so I can even things out. I guess whichever car is worth more in a few years will be the one getting traded in for a new one. That will most likely be the STI. I am married to the STI, but in love with the RX8. I just hope I don't get bitten by the bug when a new and improved RX8 comes out. Otherwise I'm gonna have a dilemma. I wish I can afford to trade both in in a few years for new ones, but that is definitely not possible.
Absolutely. Got the 8 on Feb. 7th and only 500 miles on it. I also don't want to get all the sand/gravel they fling during the snow storms still on the road thrown up at me either.
I drove my 8 during the second week in February to Mohegan Sun casino to see Dave Chappelle, and that was the last time I saw it.It has been buried under mounds of snow, with no sign of spring yet.I miss driving it so much, but I will be ok when the spring/summer roll around, and I get to use up all the miles I have been saving.I leased the car,and figure the 2000 plus miles I have saved up will be put to good use during the nice weather.I should be at a little over 7000 miles at this point, but the odometer just went over 5000 during the trip home from the casino.I am sick and tired of this winter.I can't remember a more snowy winter ever here in south eastern MA.Curse you old man winter!

It's ended in the Pacific Northwest - in fact it never started. All of our weather hit Cali this winter...
It's going to be 68 on Sunday here! And all next week in the upper 60's. So, what happens in the PNW will trend across the nation slowly - just be patient
F the car or anything else. I just need an island fix - me and my wife, getting our skin warm on the beach. Of course my wife's penchant for topless beachses helps that.
yea..i'm with guy on this one..we don't really have coldness and such...although, i've been freezing my *** off lately and all i want to do is go to the beach!! grrrrrr

It's been spring here in south Texas for over a month now. Why you people choose to live up there in the tundra I will never know.
I've been to Texas once. Dallas - six years ago this April. I was there for training. The humidity in the morning was so bad that just walking to my car from the hotel felt like walking up a very steep hill. Everyone there told me that was the norm through October. If that's Texas in April, then I have no desire to be there in the summer. Heat I can deal with; humidty, no way.
Keep yer damn Texas. I like Pennsylvania just fine.

This is true, but it's not consistantly humid with the exception of the occasional heat wave. Plus it's only three months vs six or more months. Not to mention we're an hour from the beach.
Winter = Cold and snow. Perfect for drifting and skiing/snowboarding. Or better yet, curling up with you SO in front of a nice warm fire.
Spring = Cold and wet some days; dry, sunny and warm others. Perfect for hiking, biking, cruising in the 8, and playing paintball.
Summer = Warm to hot; occasionally humid. Great time for the beach or pool. Cool nights on the beach with your SO.
Fall = Warm days fading to cool nights. Leaves changing over from green to shades of reds, yellows, and browns. Another season for being outdoors hiking, biking, or playing paintball. Night drives with the sunroof open taking in the chilly air.
That's the beauty of living in the "tundra". I'd take four seasons over two any day of the week.
