I find it interesting to see what cities our members are from, however many of the members have not updated the “Location” field in their user profile. Many times I find knowing where the member is from explains their question or their response to a thread a little better.
Just a friendly request to all those that have not yet done so.
Thanks.

man red devil you are so lucky. i'm from philly and now live in portland. i want a cheese steak so bad! i can't get a good one out here. i dont think i'll make it to christmas when i go home to visit.
Zoom44, I know your pain. There are no good cheesesteaks anywhere outside of Philadelphia. I recently went to a place in Jacksonville that was supposed to have the best steaks in the city. It was so bad I couldn't eat half of it.
What's your favorite place to go to? Mine is Mama's Pizzeria in Bala Cynwyd. I make sure I get there at least once a week whenever I'm in town. Always with pickled sweet peppers, ketchup and mushrooms. Damn it...now I want one.
there is a town about 30 miles west of philly called Downingtown. thats the area i spent most of my time growing up. the best place in that area is called Sam's pizza. big fresh rolls loaded with meat and cheese. and the sweet peppers, man i say sweet peppers out here and people look at me strange. even in so called "deli's" and of course you gotta go downtown to south street just to get one from pat's or gino's once in awhile. there is also a great place (can't remember the name) near the train station in paoli. gotta go, i think i'll have my mother see if she can fed ex me a cheese steak. :D
Sal's Pizza in Mt. Holly, NJ has always been my favorite pizza. Even now, at 28, after living just about everywhere and sampling pizzas, it is still the first place I eat when I go visit my parents.
As for cheesesteaks, in Fort Walton Beach, FL there is a fantastic place called Slick Mick's. The owners moved here from Philly, and really missed the cheesesteaks. So they opened their own place. Not very many people know about it, but I go there roughly once every other week or more. They also make really great hoagies, too. Especially since every other place in this town gives you a blank stare when you ask if they make hoagies.
Zoom44,
I'm familiar with Downington, but I don't know if I've ever been out there. Gino's is pretty good, but I prefer the meat from Pat's more. I always appreciate a steak from Pat's after a night out at the bars. The place is always so crowded, though, sometimes we have to wuss out, and run to Lorenzo's on South Street instead.
B-Nez,
I'll have to remember Slick Mick's if I'm ever in the area. The people here in Jacksonville that make the steaks are from Philadelphia also. They said they started making the steaks because we didn't have any good ones. (I'd name them, but since I already said they're not good, I don't think it would be proper.)
