I just ordered my personalized Ontario license plate for my preordered RX-8, total cost $213.60 ouch!
I paid $212.60 for the plate plus a $1.00 convenience fee for ordering the plate through a kiosk. I highly recommend ordering your plate through a kiosk if available in your area, originally I went to the licensing office but there must have been about 40 people in line renewing their plates and/or driversí license. The other advantage is that you can instantly find out if your requested plate is already issued. Fortunately the $213.60 is in Canadian dollars.
I tried the following plates but without success because they were already issued:
2 THE 9S
The following are the ones that I did not try:
YELLOW 8 (thatís the colour that I will probably order)
I ended up getting "8TH SIN". I was a little surprised that this one was still available because it is only 6 characters; Ontario only went to 8 characters earlier this year.
Now I just have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the plate to arrive and only God knows how many more months for my RX-8. :D
Save a tree, eat a beaver... :p
i've been checking out this forum for awhile now and i gotta tell you guys it is great i finally decided to jump in. how's this for plates "zoom44" or "trx8m". how about a flame job on the hood of the rx8, with the flame (maybe in blue?) extending up over the roof? maybe someone with photoshop could try one so we can see how it looks. thanks for having such a great forum!
p.s. 2nd on the list at my local dealer! they are clueless, no real info at all!
pps- i believe at the 2007 tokyo motor show Mazda will unveil a new rotory with 1.6 litres of displacement and will call it the 16x
i was just watching some of the rx8 video and wondered... where am i going to put my front license plate. there doen't appear to be a good place that won't block air going into the engine compartment. another thing has anybody seen this car with the hood up? might the whole bonnet lift up and forward?
It appears there just going to slap one on right in the middle of the front but thats how it has to be... i saw a pic awhile back it was a drawing it had the hood opening the rear of the hood but i dont know if that design was used.
but if you look at the picture of the front of the car it apears that the head lights would be in the way if the hood opened i nthat fashoin, the geometry just seems wroung, but who knows thats just my observation. it still could open fro mtheb ack of the hood if the front area has some hindges that allow it to swing upward.
Put the pedal THROUGH the metal.
it seems to me that the hood should be hinged in the front. with the engine siiting behind the front wheels getting in there to work with a "traditional" hood would be a hell of a stretch especially if you had to get at the back of the engine. i see your point though about the headlights.
i just found out that ican't get my plate until i have a car to put it on. oregon doesn't allow you to get it ahead of time or even put a deposit on one to hold it. this sucks! any body else on this forum from oregon please leave my plate alone i've got dibs!
your right notav6 i should have kept my mouth shut!
and thanks blue i'll check that out. i hope the keep the hood that way
also, i have read the whole blue adept series, all the xanth series, all the incarnations series and about half of the rest of piers' work. when he was a kid he went to a school in the town i grew up in. i even saw his house once a few years ago on a trip to florida. i'm sounding like some kind of groupie now so i'll stop
