Torture

Boy, this is really killing me. My Titanium 6spd GT w/AP + Spoiler will hopefully be arriving this week, but I'll be out of town from 7/10-7/20. plus, when I get home, I've got to make the 20+ hr trek to Ft. Lauderdale to finally pick up my car. (long story). Will be a long drive down, but should be a fun one back. (Gotta make sure I break it in before getting into too much highway driving). This will be a very stressful month. Anyway, congrats to the people who's cars are supposedly being delivered this afternoon and thanks to all the guys sending in the port/dealer play by play updates.

When I visited Buffalo on a business trip I stopped by the Local dealer there and they told me they where selling the 8 for 5k over MSRP. I could only imagine your long story. Which dealer in Lauderdale are you buying

It should be a fun ride back home

Yeah, the dealer by me in Buffalo wouldn't know if had 3 RX-8's sitting in its own lot, much less anything about the car or when they're getting them. I asked three different salespeople about it around 2 months ago, and got different responses from everyone. The best was "I think we're only getting 2 at first. Its supposed to be pretty quick for a four cylinder, but don't even think about trying to use the back seats for people" I said "Thank you" and never went back. I'm getting mine from Gunther Mazda, since I got a good deal with lots of options . I'm down there a bunch of times a year, and my grandparents are moving there this summer, so they need their car transported, so I'd gladly make a 2 day trip bringing their Acura TL down to come back with my car. Any estimates on when you're getting your car?

Which dealer you talking about? town mazda or northtown? I was talking to a salesman at town and he was really knowledgable, which i didn't expect. Of course he had been a long time 7 owner. He did mention that they would not be selling over msrp.

But the last time i talke to a salesman from the same dealer at the autoshow last year, he claimed that he already had the 8 in his showroom. I asked if it was the 4 or 6 cylinder engine. He said that they we're getting some of each so i could try both. :D
