toons to the big screen

as a spinoff of the video game thread, what cartoons would you like made into a motion picture and who would play each part?

i think Thundercats would make a fantastic movie...i don't particualarly care for the other characters but Cheetara could be played by either Rebecca Romaijn, Liz Hurley, or Julia Roberts...i guess a good candidate for Panthro would be Samuel Jackson

I would like to see The Maxx get a motion picture. I would also like to see Aeon Flux but I don't see how it would be coherent enough to last close to 2 hours.

Re: toons to the big screen

Thundercats was my all time favorite show back when I was wee little lad. Thanks for bringing back the memories...

Don't ruin Cheetara by having Julia Roberts playing her....you need someone hot for that role.

Samuel L. Jackson has the intensity but doesn't look like he can kick some *** at all.

does J-Anime count? If so I'd like to see Evangellion

imagine Jessica Alba playing Aeon Flux like she did in Dark Angel...tight black leather/vinyl...she'd make a great Battle Angel Alita as well...hell she'd make a great anything

I definitely agree that Evangelion would be a good one, that is if they did it right. But its so long and complex that it'd have to break into a couple of movies rather than just one.

And Dark Angel was based off of Battle Angel, so therefore Jessica Alba pretty much did play Alita. :D

let's not limit it to just live action...i'm sure a CG animated movie of Smurfs would be pretty cool if the guys that did Shrek do it

if anyone has seen Ninja Scroll, that would translate really well into a motion picture...but they'd have to keep all the violence in there

I don't know how much you guys watch anime. But when I was growing up, I used to watch Laputa every day. Now that would have been an amazing movie to watch...Here is the link

Laputa was cute. All of miyazaki's work was good, but I think too fantasy like to become a good movie--but laputa might work. ^^

Another good classic that would make a good film series would be Robotech and Macross. We could have some good times with this series.
