Too Impatient...

So the RX-8 I'm buying that i have been waiting for the bank payoff for about a month now is giving me too much time to second guess my decision about buying it. I just found out the payoff wasn't sent until last wek so it will be another 2 weeks before it comes in due to the channels from the bank to the registry to the dealership.

But i just took it out for a ride and i feel weak at the knees from driving it. I absolutly love the car and the rocketship feel from driving it but its testing my patience to go find another one at another dealership to buy. I know this one's history it was owned by a very nice lady from an upscale neighborhood who bought it new in 2008 and only put 23k on the clock. Its only a sport package, no navigation or leather but its a black on black 6 speed and feels brand new.

What do i do.

Wait for the title for this one?

Go buy another that could have been beat to hell?

Have you had it compression tested? Saying "it was owned by a nice lady from an upscale area" sounds like "it was not driven very hard and babied for those 23k miles" to me. Which is potentially bad.

You don't want one thats been beat to hell, but you want to know the previous owner drove it at least a little hard. The lady that owned it may not have known how to take care of the car(all stuff outlined in the new and potential owners thread, read it).

Without compression readings, that's not worth much...

Since they're asking you to wait, ask them for a compression test.

But like RIWWP said, you've gotta go for what you like. I would wait and ask for the test.

again....not gonna impress anyone. There are countless threads of engines that "passed" a compression test but the test wasn't administered/read correctly.

I waited a whole month for my car because of the bank payment as well. Wait for it and be patient. No sense in finding another one if this is the one you originally decided on.

I think you already know the answer to your question judging from your original post OP.
